Walter Bache
« on: December 30, 2019, 10:45:42 AM »
We have just found out that Walter Bache passed away on December 18 2019.
I am sorry to see him go - he was a great and stalwart member of Hank's Forum.
A true pioneer trucker.

Walter - R.I.P.

"Today we say goodbye to one of the most important individuals in my life. If it weren’t for him and my grandmother there’s no telling where I might be in my life and for that it was my duty and pleasure to care for him in his final days and keep him comfortable and grant his wish of passing in his own bed. I love you Grampa! Goodbye."

Damn, I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm gonna miss his shots in the POTD thread, there was a long streak where he kept it going.

My condolences to his family and those of us who knew him personally.

I met Walt at a truck show in Macungie PA back in 2014 or so and was glad for the opportunity. The man was a wealth of knowledge about the industry and his memory was as sharp as a tack. I always enjoyed his stories about the early days of his career and wondered if he had his old log books by his side when relating his adventures. ;D Condolences to his family...…….he will be missed. :(

My condolences to Walter's family.  I have always enjoyed reading his posts over the years about his experiences running cross country hauling a diverse variety of loads.

You could always learn something reading his posts.  And he was always willing to share those experiences with us.
