The Final Month - December 2019 POTD
« on: December 01, 2019, 03:37:12 PM »
The last month of the year is upon us.
It is also the last month of the second decade of the 21 st Century.
Where has that time flown?

Here in Ontario December came in like a lion.
Sunday the first we had freezing rain and strong winds and Sunday night more snow.

Here is a City of Mississauga truck spreading salt.  The Winter of 18/19 (last year) we didn't get snow untill January. This is the second storm with accumulation already this season.

Tuesday 12/3/19

Thought about submitting a trio of trucks shot back-to-back-to-back, but that doesn't seem right for Picture of the Day.

I'll just say, it was nice crossing this off the list.

Just a standard spec Virginia style dump truck Jim. The 7th axle allows it to run at 85k with a 5k overload permit, and they're very common in VA, especially in northern VA.

Jim I like the Canadian style rigs, but I also like VA-style too. They look like centipedes with all those axles. We also have 6 axle straight trucks like flatbeds/cement mixers too.

Ok Rob I'll bite.

Thursday 12/5/19

I don't really consider this a great shot or anything so if anyone has something better put it up and I'll take this down. Just a 9900i heavy hauler for McGee Mobile Crane Inc. of Clear Brook, VA seen here picking up a beam in Woodbridge.

Saturday 12/7/19

I visited a place I've passed by a million times but finally got the opportunity to stop at. Parsons Farm off Route 234 in Prince William County is a dirt farm/topsoil/aggregate wholeseller, and usually when I pass by they are always closed. But not today! The beauty of discovering new places is finding opportunities you didn't know about, such as this shot which is tucked away behind the hill upon which the office/yard sits. I've also got another shot of their 3 trucks that sit in the yard but I'll save that for my randoms thread.
