Interesting Tractor
« on: August 15, 2019, 08:44:02 PM »
Caught this rig on Sunday 8/11 on EB I-70 near Claysville PA.  Looks to be a Navy veteran lease operator running under SR Trucking.  I didn't quite catch the tractor only shot, but it does give you a look at the graphics, which were beautifully done.  I'm wondering if it is an ex-flatbed fleet unit as it seems to have the wheelbase, plus the toolbox could be left over from that setup.  Not sure about the rest of the stuff above though.

Click on the photos for an enlarged, text-free view:

Thought I would include this spiffy tractor here also, shot just a short time prior to the Cascadia.

Paul -

Great Photo! The superb graphics tell a story. Truck owner clearly retired US NAVY.
Note door markings display "CV-67". That the Carrier, John F Kennedy, first into
service in 1967. The vessel did perform anti-submarine missions.

Your writer chased 'Net leads and links. Much of the story in the truck photo.
Check in at your local VFW and American Legion posts. Lots of great members

Very interesting rig, probably one of the coolest Cascadias out there, love that paint/decal! 8)
I'll second Jim on the Coronado, nice rig.

Both of those are really neat Paul. I'm curious to know if that retired-Navy rig uses that box on the back to haul a bike or something. Seen similar setups used for bike hauling behind the sleeper.

Paul. the top photo, good job on the trailer and number. These trailers in the 180, 181, and 182 series are hard to find. This one here, Great Dane 181300, I can use for when it was built. It was built in either August or September 2017. I have trailer 181268 being built in August, and 181389 being built in September.
