Awesome! Emd's on the coal train and Ge's on the intermodal. I have seen 3 trains at once at horseshoe curve. Horseshoe curve is live on you tube 24/7 :)

Yes Paul - a very good video.
That train has something I don't get to see (besides Horseshoe Curve) TOFC.
Both of the Canadian transcons only handle COFC.
The odd time if they do get a trailer it is lifted into the well of a container car and handled that way.
Lots of FedEx and UPS trailers in the vid.

Not a real train buff but that's a place I've always wanted to see. 8) Awesome video IMO. :)

I was just up there railfanning in October, I can't believe how nonstop the freight action is up there. On a weekday you can see 20 trains pass by in the span of a few hours. It was nice to see some SD40's leading on that ballast set too, they have a ton of SD40's up there but they typically use them as helpers. And if you hang around the curve long enough, you're guaranteed to see 2 trains meet there at some point. Really though I'm just jealous of the videographer, walking up to that spot to shoot from the outside (where the best shot is) is ballsy because rumors are the NS police have motion detectors on the trail going to that spot since you're technically trespassing on railroad property right there.

If anybody wants to see my coverage from up there here's the album I took. Everything but the first 5 shots is from the Pittsburgh line from Summerhill to Altoona.

I forgot to mention this but there is a Youtube channel that does 24/7 live feeds at railfan hotspots around the world. You can watch this feed of Horseshoe Curve 24/7 and it always has the last 4 hours available for viewing too.
