Reimer Slowly Disappearing?
« on: May 12, 2018, 09:13:01 PM »
It's been a long time since Reimer was sold to Roadway.
Then of course Roadway was taken over by Yellow to become YRC.

Now, I did see one of the old Sterlings still operating last February; complete with a Fast-As-Flite jitney trailer.

but  on Friday May 11 2018 I saw this set of YRC with a Volvo tractor and pups.

and I'm wondering if this is the Montreal set running from Tonawanda (Buffalo) to Dorval (Montreal)

Looks like it has the YRC Reimer logo on the air fairing and YRC doesnít have a lot of VNLs, let alone twin-screws. Iím thinking this is what YRC Reimer will look like in years to come.

I think you're right Rob, safe to say the familiar green/black/ white with red chassis will soon be gone....too bad! Rumor has it that the Burnaby terminal is looking into new tractors so we will see how that turns out. There are still active Sterling and Ch Mack units roaming around here the the old colours

I still see some single axle Sterlings around in Mississauga. I believe they are located by the airport just down Britannia Rd/Shawson area.

Of course, after I posted this the Truck Watchers Karma  ::) catched me up.
I saw an old Yellow tractor with a Reimer 53 foot van trailer one night. No picture.
And; I also managed to get this International tractor still in Reimer paint with a YRC pup trailer doing a city peddle run.

Nice catch on the 9400i Rob, wish the guys that made decisions on colour would be convinced that is so much nicer........corporate identity, how important is that!!

The last couple Reimer's I saw down here in MN pulling stuff back north were all white tractors but had the Reimer logo on the door.

Wayne asked me to share these Reimer shots with you guys, this seems as good a place as any. First one credit goes to Gerard.

There are several Reimer tractors up for auction on Copart (where YRC disposes of all retired equipment).  First time I have seen Reimer equipment posted there.

Those Wayne shots ...
The picture taken by the late Gerard LaPlante would have been at his spot near Sherbrooke Quebec.
The next shot of an International daycab was in eastern Ontario near Morrisburg or Ingleside on Highway 401.
The Mack was, I believe, taken at Angelos Truck Stop in eastern Ontario.
The bobtail Mack was taken at the small ESSO truck stopHusky truck stop on Shawson Drive in Mississauga. I was with Wayne that day.
The Sterling with the Yellow trailer was taken by him in Ottawa.
Then he sent me this picture of a Volvo with Reimer trailer that he saw at his spot at Highway 401 and Islington Avenue last year.

I believe this is the truck that runs between Buffalo (Tonawanda NY) and Montreal (Dorval QC) .

This one doesn't show anything since it is a rental/lease tractor from Maxim.
A pair of Yellow pups makes me assume that it is a YRC-Reimer operated unit.

This is probably a Maxim lease.
Every now and again you'd see one in the expected colours and it's leased from Maxim.

Today - September 11 - I saw YRC Reimer on this city trailer. It was an old single axle Sterling still dragging around.
