LUNCHTIME AT MY OVERPASS August 2017
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:51:25 PM »
August 2017 - Wednesday the 2ND.

First Up - a Volvo and a multiaxle tank trailer from High Road Logistics from Hamilton.

Next we had an International 9900 from Iron Horse Transportation from Cardinal Ont.

Cardinal is in the "Seaway Valley" district on the way to Montreal. Iron Horse is primarily on the Varennes Quebec to Hamilton Ontario steel lane.

Here is a Volvo from Caravan Logistics from Oakville ON. U-Line is a shipping supplies company

Another Steel hauler - KimTam Leasing/ Samuel Steel International from Burlington ON>

A Quebec based steel hauler - Freightliner Coronado from Transports RDR from Barraute QC

The 9900 B-train is one tough looking rig.

Thanks Paul

Cassens with a load of new Fords.

i'm not sure where Cassens Canada is actually based. It might be London Ontario.

Then , a Ford dump truck.

Canada Cartage is the Air Liquide carrier, at least in Ontario.

A KW T680 sleeper truck is an unusual make amongst their usual Volvo and International daycabs.

Speaking of daycabs, here is one from Schneider. Could be based in Guelph but it could have come up from the States.

And, our last sighting for the 2nd of August was another Freightliner B Train from Transport RDR.

The old Ford and the Transport RDR FLD are some cool looking older rigs, nice catches! 8)

We (in the editorial use of the word) returned to the overpass a few days later.
First up; a Wilson's Truck Lines Columbia on its way back to the yard passing a Mack dumptruck.

Lots of action in this shot - Dynevor trailer being hauled by another Brampton carrier while in the westbound lanes a Challenger Kenworth is passing a chicken truck from JMF based in Brampton

A Laidlaw Dump Division B Train rolls past next.

Another B Train - Carmel Transport hauls a pair of Maersk Line 20 footers.

A sharp Kenworth W900 pulls a 4 legger aggregate dump trailer.

It was followed by a Peterbilt dump and pup hauling aggregates.

An owner operator Volvo leased to Caravan Logistics of Oakville is next. The truck is painted in the colours of Fallen Flag Liquid Cargo Lines but i don't recall LCL using air dams since they hauled tankers. Maybe this broker just  liked that paint scheme.

There will be more too.  ;D

I'm not sure who runs this Volvo with multiaxle flat. It might be T Bell Trucking of Espanola (west of Sudbury ON)

Rothsay Volvo on the way to collect meat byproducts for recycling.

And another Btrain. Ippolito from Burlington is a frequent sighting here on the QEW near Toronto. However, this is the first time I have seen them with a container chassis.

Then; some steel (well metals) haulers from Quebec. Four came storming past; likely trying to get through the 401 traffic before it got too bad.
East on the QEW to Highway 427 then north to highway 401 and turn east again. Wayne Crane's spot is 5 KM east of the 427-401 interchange and traffic is usually very heavy. The metals haulers used to stop in Bowmanville at the Fifth Wheel before continuing east. The Fifth Wheel is closed now.
Anyways;
WJ Deans, Delson QC and Stoney Creek ON, Pete 386 with a couple of coils.

Danstok International from Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines QC which is about 40 km north of Montreal.

This is a 2004 Western Star.

THEN....the picture that just didn't work.
There was a second Danstok and it was being chased by another Quebec metals hauler - SLB Transit of Jonquiere QC.
I tried to get both in the shot but....

Another Quebec truck followed the Metals Haulers. Yum-Yum is a brand of potato chips. Some are sold in Ontario although I confess I have never seen them in any local stores.

Canada Cartage with an Air Liquide trailer being passed by a KWT600 with Grace on the door. Maybe WR Grace Chemicals.

A Volvo from ITS followed. A little bumper damage it seems.

And the last picture from August 2017 is this Western Star from McDonald Liquid and Bulk from Ottawa.

I hope some enjoyed these sightings.
Not many comments but that's OK.
Maybe some more members might return.
My spot beside the QEW usually offers more variety than the side of the 401 on weekends.
There will be a September update too.

YUM-YUM is a small Québec regional potato chips producer. It's products are distributed in Québec, Ontario, Maritimes and
in some parst of  New- England. Perhaps that you now better Krispy Kernels, its nuts products division.

Got yourself a damn fine lineup of b-trains and cool setups like the McDonald's Western Star there there, I agree with Charlie and Bob. The Laidlaw Pete is my favorite though. Really glad to see more shots from this spot, it's a great spot you have there.

I missed this post the last few times Rob, lots for very cool set ups, that MacDonald W/S sure catches some attention! I enjoyed them all, that glass building in the back ground is better then the anorexic apt building tho ::)

Grace is an old name I remember seeing back in the day, I think you're right, chemicals of sorts! Thinking they were green at that time
