June 2017 - LTOP and More 401 action
« on: February 23, 2018, 08:53:18 PM »
Catching up from my absence we come to June.

I made a trip to the overpass at the QEW. For some reason I didn't stay for many pictures.

First off...dump trucks.

Next a T680 for Pentagon Logistics of Mississauga.

Next a Mack daycab on the entrance ramp.

I never tire of seeing shots from your spot Rob, that's an ideal background with the sun at your back. Your first shot is my favorite, I like your dump truck setups.

Thanks Partsman.
I don't recall why there were so few pictures; I was probably there during a lull in the traffic.

Bell Cartage from Kitchener.

followed by a Peterbilt car hauler

The last picture is a Western Star flat deck B Train.

We will soon head up to The 401 for more action shots.

About a week later....we were up at The 401 for some pictures.
No lull there.

We lead off with a "darn car" shot as a KW T660 is passing a Volvo.

A nice International 9900 with a reefer was next.

Steel Hauler! ICI Kenworth W900

Midland Transport headed to the border. I don't think it was DM's ride.

LONESTAR - A Bison lease operator in a Lonestar was headed east to Toronto.

I guess we can not assume it is headed for the Mississauga terminal but if he is the Dixie Road exit is only about 10 minutes away.

And, we will close this first set with this neat little tractor trailer that is hauling some trailers. It looks like an oversized pick up truck.

The burgundy 9900 and the Ford hauling the RVs are my picks, really neat catches!

Yes, thanks...it was a Burst of Burgundy .... ::)

anyways....
A pair of Freightliners came next. What appears to be a trash hauler passes A Team Transport.

Next a day cab leased to ITS of Brampton with a Loblaws trailer which is probably returning to the DC in Cambridge after a delivery run around Toronto.

The paint on this Feightliner looks like ESTES but they don't run up here,

Blue Line Volvo daycab returning to the Milton terminal.

Eastbounders; the W900 Kenworth is an American visitor

WJ Deans (Delson Quebec and Stoney Creek ON) heads down the 401.

and this group closes with Central Transport in a Freightliner.

I still think of Fords for this carrier.

Red, white, and blue with a maple leaf seems to be a popular Canadian graphic.  I shot this last month on I-79, part of the SB Sunday traffic from the GTA

Good eye on that Paul.
Red and white represents Canada (with the Maple Leaf) and the addition of blue represents the US.

Continuing

We have an International leased to Contrans MultiAxle headed west under a load.

Challenger Bulk Division. The ghost marking for Hilz Trucking is still visible on the trailer.

A Freightliner subcontracted to Speedy takes a USF Holland trailer. It's probably on a peddle run, not being returned to the border yet.

Here comes a Pete 386 with a reefer leased to JB Transport from Brampton.

A Reimer Sterling  with a Roadway long van is returning to the YRC terminal in Mississauga. He will get off at Dixie Road and go north.

And this group will end with a Pete wrecker heading west while a GFS with a Penske tractor follows another Bison on the eastbound side.

And we continue....

A CSX domestic container hauled by an unknown carrier.

I pulled the trigger a little early on this Freightliner hauling an oversized load. It was still under the overpass.

FedEx Freight Canada International Prostar daycab.

Another Lonestar - Laidlaw Dump Division

A Landstar International heading west.

I sent this to Hank to post in my main site collection . This is the last MacKinnon Transport I ever caught in action. They were sold in November and closed at the end of December 2017.

http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/archer_mackinnon.html

A set of doubles from CanPar was working it's way to Toronto in the busy Friday evening traffic.
