Catching up from last year...JULY.

Sunday July 2. Most people got a 3 day Canada Day long weekend. Since Canada Day actually fell on Saturday Monday would be a holiday.
BUT NOT FOR MANY TRUCKERS. Freight in the 21ST Century never sleeps.

Let's kick things off with...Canada Cartage. A Columbia daycab pulling a SBY trailer means it's on its way to a Sobeys or FreshCo store.

Next up : Mavron from Mississauga

Then; a T680 for Charger Logistics.

Forbes Hewlett from Brampton heads west.

Tim Hortons returning to Guelph.

Everest Transportation from Caledon

Millcreek based in Cambridge but this might have pulled out of Kriska's yard.

Precision Truck Lines, like Forbes Hewlett, uses aero trucks now when they used to run "hoods". The trailer shows their points of service.

Note to Paul...another for your red and blue theme.

This must be fast...it's SPEEDX  ::)

IFS out of Brampton concludes this first batch.

And, 5 more.

A bus picture...Stratford Ontario was a railway divisional point with shops and other facilities on the CNR in mid western Ontario during the steam engine era. Once CN replaced steam with diesels and the steamers were scrapped the Stratford shops were mostly closed. One local guy decided that Stratford should use the fame of it's namesake town in England and hold a Shakespeare Festival. Local people would work and tourists would come and etc etc. Today; 60 years hence Stratford is home to a huge theatre festival (far more than Shakespeare) and people travel by bus from Toronto have dinner and see a show. That is why there is an ad for Treasure Island on the side of this bus.

Next - A Volley of Volvos went past.

Smartway (Paul K. shot one of these)

and ONE FOR FREIGHT (I updated their entry in Carrier spotlight this morning)

Nice shots Rob!  8) I like the Treasure Island bus, Mill Creek, Precision Truck Lines, and SpeedX rigs in particular. It's nice to see half-decent FLD's still running nowadays.

Thanks for comments.
Let's keep going with Highway 401 July 2.

TransAM from Concord ON

Keith Hall & Sons from Burford ON

Myers Const from Bordon PEI

Trimac Mack daycab with a B Train set of Propane tanks.

Headed east...a Peterbilt that is in Transport N paint but leased to C.A.T. Inc from Coteau Du lac Quebec.

Not sure who operates this tractor but the trailer is from Caravan Logistics from Oakville ON.

What model of Peterbilt is this daycab?

(unknown carrier too)

More....still July 2 at The 401.
Versacold is a "Supply Chain Solution" based in Vancouver. They have several cold warehouses in the Toronto area. They also run their own trucks using both owner ops and company drivers. These two are clearly owner-ops.

Another reefer carrier - JB Transport from Brampton

Garry Mercer Trucking is another fleet that now runs aero trucks but used to run "hoods".

MN Transport is based in Vaughn.

CNTL with a 40 foot dry box.

Lunchtime at My Overpass for July - Part 1

I went up on July 3 but didn't get much. Maybe didn't have much time or maybe not too much was running; can't remember.
BUT....
I got this Large Car Reefer going away. Never been able to catch him approaching; don't know what carrier name but I keep hoping.

Usually we see an outside carrier pulling a Bison trailer. This time though, Bison was pulling a Highlight trailer.

Quality Carriers
International 9900. This is an Ontario specs trailer so QC must have a terminal here.

Unknown Volvo. Might be Pro rising from Concord.

H.S. Knill
is a livestock hauler from Paris Ontario. Looks like a former Scottlynn tractor.

And, this can hauler with the Evergreen drybox, heading back to Toronto finishes this day.

That finished July 3 but I went up to my overpass again in July. Those pictures will be posted soon.

I went back a week later.
Tuesday July 11 2017.

We kick things off with a sharp Kenworth aggregate hauler - dump and pony set.

I wonder if is not a T800H rather than a W900.

Then a Cascadia with a load of miscellaneous construction supplies.

Another dumptruck - a Columbia cab Freightliner with a contractor box.

Then , a REAL!! dumptruck.

A Challenger Volvo is next. The cab shows it is from the Climate division but it's hauling a dryvan.

And here are more from July 2017.
STEELHAULERS (mostly)

A pair of Paccar Steelhaulers zooming
The Pete B train is Locomote Systems from Milton. Not sure who was running the W900 KW.

This Western Star is from IFS (International Freight Systems) from Tilbury ON.

This might be a race car hauler for the upcoming Honda Indy Cars Toronto race which ran the weekend after this picture was taken.

https://www.indycar.com/Schedule/2017/IndyCar-Series/Toronto

Contrans with a multi-axle van trailer.

Roger Leger from Vaudriel-Dorion

Transport ATD from Asbestos Quebec.

And, then we will finish with two unknown local steel haulers.
Kenworth T800

and a Western Star

and that is
-30-
for this LTOP.
