Willig Freight Lines - Video
« on: January 20, 2018, 12:14:43 PM »
Thought a few would enjoy this video. Former Willig driver Scott Puckett shot this Friday evening footage at the Willig terminal in Sparks, NV April 13, 1990, it's all about buttoning up business for the weekend. Enjoy this peek into the past.

Wow, look at all those cool FL and Ford COE's, awesome video Jimmy. Love the colors too. I was about 2 years old in '90 so I don't remember Willig but this is a very cool video regardless.

Nice video Jim
 Shows outbound well.
Sunday night just the opposite. Empties, and inbound loads up to the dock.

I never run with any of their trucks ... but 1990 doesn't seem like that long ago does it .

Seems just like a couple of years from now. ;) But, it was 28 years ago, time flies when you're having fun! 8)

I know it must have been close to the Holly Grail for you. It was for me! It was so absolutely nice of Scott to gift this to use truck history buffs and former employees.

Looking forward to someday viewing those photos of yours, hope it is sooner than later. Also, thank you for sharing your insights and such with the rest of us to date!

Yes it was great for him (Scott) to share this . Besides the older White Compacts, it was good to see a Willig flatrack in the trailer lineup. Willig used them for years for a variety of customers from United Air Lines, Zinsco; And Ecodyne. Had a few reefers too mostly for candy and once in a while turkey eggs.

What good information, thanks for your insight! My friend and fellow ATHS member Ian Williams has put his Willig FL into the shop at Engs Diesel repair and it is get an inframe rebuild to the trucks series 60 DD. I'm excited about that and look forward to hearing that truck purr again. My video camera is ready...
