Hemingway Transportation Winross
« on: January 01, 2018, 07:37:29 PM »
I am curious as to when Hemingway started using the Hemway name and changed their logos. I have two Winross promotional trucks made for them. One was produced in 1973 and has Hemway logos. The other model was made in 1978 and has "Hemingway" on it and "A Whale of a Truckline". From what I have read, they started using the Hemway name around 1977 which would be 4 years after the Winross Hemway model was made.

Thanks
Mark

Hemway name as well as the slogan `` A Whale of a Company `` ( instead of a Truckline ) began to be used in 1976 and was
part of a major restructuration process which saw the company sell over 1,000 surplus tractors and give up its southern rights
to 5 different carriers.

Here's an old thread about Hemingway you might find useful and interesting.

Employees back in1973?
