Glad to see you back Rob. I was missing your posts. When t I came first to the Forum with my tiny web technical knowledge
and my approximative English you have been of a great help and a reference for me.

That is one thing I haven't worried about in years.

As far as members jumping ship (to Facebook or otherwise) I'd love to hear what the primary reason(s) was for doing so. Except for 1 member who IIRC was disappointed in the amount of comments his posts garnered none of those who suddenly disappeared expressed a reason for doing so. I'd just like to hear from a couple or 3 to let us know what drove them away.

I know my comment here will not be appreciated but here goes
The subject for last month's POTM as I understood it was Freightliner or heavy haul--I posted a pic that contained both elements and in me opinion was the only entrée to do so . needless to say I was disappointed in the outcome and realize that this is "sour grapes"but over my years at the forum there is a clannishness in the membership and some of us don't belong .Will leave it at that

Well Walt .... for me it was a combination of lack of time due to my transport research taking over, the photobucket thing just pushed the issue to a point for me and just not taking many photos any more. My research really took over (and still does) most of my personal time and is a very relaxing thing for me to do in my down time ... seriously  it is  ;D 8) .

I have visited almost everyday, mostly on my smart phone and that in itself was part of the reason I couldn't post photos ... they are very unfriendly to most forums as they are set up more for Facebook style Apps.

But Walt, as a non American/Canadian I can relate to your last comment of sitting on the outside, looking in

Dear Walt  - You are a Member In Good Standing here at Hank's Truck Forum as far as I'm concerned.
I had equipment problems as I've explained but I am SLOWLY getting back in to the swing of things.
Hopefully things will pick up again.

As far as POTM is concerned I see that it continued in my absence.
I have always been concerned with it being a contest that some Members won't get their just dues.
I don't know how to improve that aspect.
Don't leave us - your knowledge and friendship is valuable to me.

Rob.

You had gotten my vote Walt. ;)

I for one appreciate the effort you put in to get the shots.

Walt you got my vote last month for multiple reasons, one being that you met both subject options, I loved the angle you took on it, it was a gorgeous truck, and everything came together in the shot beautifully. So I would also be disappointed if you left too, not to mention because you put in a lot of effort in the picture-a-day threads, and I've always enjoyed that.

Edit: While we're on a somewhat-related subject, I wanted to mention it still bums me out that Anna has basically disappeared from online without a trace. I reached out to her both on this site and through Instagram to see if she could reupload her winning shot from POTM but she hasn't been on here or on Instagram since early January. Hopefully for her sake nothing bad happened and she is taking a break from online or something but to just disappear from two sites without a trace is somewhat concerning. If anybody has her dad's contact info I would really appreciate reaching out so we can get Picture of the Year rolling.

Another idea I've been floating a bit is doing POTY without her entry in it but I feel that would be kinda disrespectful to her. I still welcome everyone's thoughts on the subject though.
