Jim Hurley Passed Away

I'm not sure how many of you knew who Jim was, but he has a page on Hank's main site. He passed about a week ago. I always enjoyed his photos and his intel on things UPS related. Rest In Peace sir.

What a shock. :o Jim & I spoke on the phone every couple of weeks or so and got together several times to do a little truck fanning at the 75 Chrome Shop whenever I'd be in the area. I drove his wifes car down to The Villages in 2014 when they moved and spent a nice morning at their house. When I worked in Secaucus from 2004 to 2008 Jim & I would meet up every once in a while plus I'd see him at the Mack shows. He knew a lot about the New York trucking scene & LTL in particular.

He recently had cataract surgery but seemed to be doing well last time we spoke. My condolences to his wife & the family.........RIP Jim. :(

Jim was also a longtime member of this Forum using the handle jimh721. Unfortunately with the Photobucket hijinks none of the pictures he posted are visible anymore. >:(

I knew his forum handle Charlie, just didn't know him personally. You can still see his pictures on the main site FYI, just not on the boards.

I, for one, will truly miss Jim. He was a great guy with a very generous heart.
A little known fact about Jim...the unit number on the UPS Ottawa jockey tractor that Athearn did, was from Jim's collection.
RIP my friend... :(
