TREMCAR B-TRAIN DRY BULK TANKERS
« on: June 22, 2017, 12:26:39 AM »
When I got the J&L resin cast tanker from Andre Giroux, I also bought a twin set for B-train version. After some research, they look like they might resemble a Tremcar brand so that is what it will be!!

the tanks are what is in the kit so one has to supply the rest. I'm quite fine with that as those tanks are the difficult part, the chassis donors are both Athearn container chassis modified to fit the tanks, front fenders modified from a Tonkin tanker

and the rear fenders are from Promotex that are also slightly modified

the braces are Plastruct or Evergreen strips.

Progressing nicely. Those should look great when they're done.

a little more progress here

ladders from Kibri and Herpa, steps from Norscot Peterbilt chassis, plumbing is a combination of K&S aluminum tube and Plastruct rod, clearance lights scratch built and deck plates for both are also from Kibri

Looking better every time. Like the use of the container trailers. I've used them for a lot of things other than hauling containers myself.

Here are a few shots of the tankers near the finish line, just requiring some safety stripes and a few other details, hooked into a build of years ago, the Tonkin Western Star, just for a few shots! Not sure which tractor will be dedicated to this trailer(s) but until then, here is a look

Dennis Aust wheels and tires all the way around coated with Alclad

rubber hoses up front are aluminum tube painted flat black

just with the lead

now the pup

back together again

Wow, those are looking sharp!  I bought some aluminum tube this weekend after seeing what you do with it. Looks great.
