1973 White Road Commander "FINISHED"
« on: May 15, 2017, 04:32:12 PM »
I started this one a while back. It jumped in front of my Highbinder project.

Here's my inspiration picture:

The cab is fiberglass and a real pain to work with. The Aerodyne roof is from the snap KW.

The rear axle will be a tag:

Very interesting project you have started here Brian, I thought it was going orange till I scrolled down to the next photo and was stunned by the Mayflower paint and decals, looks great though! The other point of interest.....-well one of- is of course the roof but then the unique tag axle on a single installation finishing off with the 8-track tapes in the consul, just outstanding already!!

Beautiful work all around as always !.......love the cab details !....your weathering of the exhaust manifold and pipe of that old Detroit came out looking super !

Thanks for the comments guys!!
Interior is done with classic paneling from that era. Just a few things left to do.

Thanks Jim!!
Well it's finished!
I wanted that project or Johnny Cash look (one piece at a time). The stack is angled back on purpose, after hitting a tree limb, the stack was replaced, but the muffler never straightened.

Fantastic job! (from the weathering to the interior detail). 8)  Like the idea of the bent stack too.
The pics outside in the sun just "bring it to life"

Great build !....superb photos,.. the two photos showing close-ups of the engine are virtually impossible to distinguish from a real one !!

Very nice.

Really liked how you deflected attention away from the rear-mount turbo 8V-71T with a close up of the "air dryer" - which is actually a Brakemaster aftercooler.
Some function as an air dryer though.
Right-wing Old School.
