That's too bad, Viper's 389 was a great mod. It does work for me in 1.6, except for some details on the dashboard. I thought I read he was going to mod the SCS 389, but who knows.

So are the trucks you already bought still available for use or do you have to redo the entire fleet then?  I guess that's one big problem with mods is these kinds of issues. :-\  I did try out that mod briefly awhile back and ended up getting rid of it; while the engines sounded great the trucks didn't look realistic enough compared to the rest of the game.  I didn't have any other issues but I still think there's something to be said for playing the game vanilla, although if others like to use mods I totally understand.

They are still available, but they have a few little bugs here and there. Honestly, the more I use the regular in-game 389, the more I like it. The truck accessories mod for SCS trucks allows me the customization I like to have without the need for an extra modded tractor, so the lack of future updates just expedited what was going to happen anyway as I was leaning towards getting rid of the mod. The vanilla game is great on it's own, there are just some things, like cab accessories, and more trailers, that I do like to have. I have been using Jazzycat's cargo pack for heavy haul transport for this company, I hope to get some photos up here soon.

Well, I have renewed the Rio Grande fleet with some new equipment. RG focuses on flatbed and specialized work, as well as fuel hauling. I have decided to not use tractor mods for the time being, because I have really come to like the in-game trucks, including the 389, the more I just use them. I do plan on continuing to use the tractor accessories mod for SCS trucks, as well as trailer mods.

The new RG-1001: a 2017 Peterbilt 389, 550 Cummins, 18speed, with a black and white retro paint scheme. The truck has a decent amount of chrome extras, and several lights. It has a rear mounted tool box, which most of my tractors in this fleet now have.

Hauling one of Jazzycat's heavy haul cargoes

One of the things I decided to do when I was revamping the fleet was make a light-up "RG" on the grille of each of the trucks. This is possible via the SCS truck extra accessories mod. Just thought it looked cool and made the fleet stand out a bit.

RG-1002 is an identical Peterbilt 389, with an exact inverse paint scheme to the truck above.

Hauling a mobile lift

RG-1003 is a turquoise 389. This one is equipped with super single tires on the drive axles as well as a lift on the first drive axle. It is a truck we use for our tanker division. I can't wait for the multiple pivots, perhaps someone will make a cool western LCV tanker mod.

I must say I really like the new look of the fleet (the old one was still pretty good too), I was wondering what you would do with the regular 389's.  One a side note, I don't know if you noticed it but awhile back the engine on the SCS 389 was reworked; same sound but spends much more time at higher RPMs, which makes quite a bit of difference to making it sound more enjoyable.

Thank you. I have only used it for a little bit, but it sounds good nonetheless.

I like the 'RG' in lights, neat idea. Interesting configuration on the turquoise 389's with the super singles.

Thanks. I see a lot of tankers with lift axles and super singles, so I thought it would work. If they bring out double tankers, I may put duals on to handle the weight.

Just to finally update (it's been too long), Rio Grande has expanded into heavy haul operations. We now have tractors set up for heavy loads:

RG-1004 is a 2017 Peterbilt 389 with the big 625hp Cummins engine and 18speed gearbox. It has big floater tires on heavy alcoa rims.

Hauling an Oshkosh armored military vehicle (mods--Jazzycat military cargo, Alcoa wheels pack)

RG-1005 is an identical spec truck, except with a blue and white color scheme, seen here hauling one of the new DLC loads with multiple pivot points

We have also expanded Rio Grande into long haul fuel transport. We are running super b-train tankers (a new, awesome mod using the multiple pivot points). B-trains are not widely used in the US, but I like them and wish they were able to be used here, so I am glad this mod exists.
Here is RG-1005, a 2017 Kenworth W900L with Cummins ISX/18speed hauling a shiny new set of trailers.

We have also contracted out to fuel companies. Here is RG-1006, a 2017 Kenworth T680 with midroof sleeper, powered by a 600hp Cummins ISX/18speed gearbox, liveried for Chevron using a blue and red color scheme and blue hubs, and hauling a Chevron set.

Nice B Train Tankers, its becoming one of my favorite trailer mods. Lots of skins available for it as well.

Thanks! I really like the b-train mod, the fact that we now have doubles in the game in both SCS and mod form is awesome. Continuing with the tankers, here is another one. RG-1008 is an identical spec Kenworth T680, this one in Texaco livery (we haul for Chevron, which owns Texaco as well).

Not sure how I missed the post from July 4th, but really like the 389s and W900 there; also the Texaco T680 looks pretty sharp.  Just curious, have you ever considered, for the roof lights on the 389 and W900, filling it all across with the bullet style lights?  I'm not saying you should do it or anything, but have noticed that many fancy real life PACCAR rigs have the lights like that.  I really like that look but hadn't thought of putting it on my own trucks for a while; I hadn't picked up on that detail until recently.

I have noticed it's a trend as well. To be honest, while I don't hate the look and it can definitely look sharp on the right truck, I just prefer the more traditional five marker lights and two air horns on the cab roof. However, it's really cool the game allows you to do either or none.

Tanker B-train looks good. I've noticed that at certain times its missing a shadow, I hope it gets updated.
