Canadian Pacific

I saw yesterday, for the first time, on the HW 10 linking Montréal to Sherbrooke a CP rail container different from the usual
CP grey container without any marking. This one displayed big red CP letters on its side.

Could it have been used for a promotional photo or video?
It could then have been placed in the pool of containers  that are working.

Pretty sure the one you mentioned has been in service for a while now. I don't think there are any new CP container designs.

There's been a huge amount of CN/CP domestic containers stored at the empty terminals. Doubt they would be in service as I see them piled more and more. I don't know if domestic container movements have slowed or that there's been an overflow of higher supply of domestic containers diverted from elsewhere.

One of the reasons you see more domestic container sitting is because the big OTR carriers are placing more and more of their trailers and their own containers on the rail. Plus, companies like Hub Group that have so many containers take up so much of the volume.

The railroads really don't want to provide the container service. They just want to be the vehicle to move the container from point A to point B.

I'm affirmative CP Rail operates new containers showing big red CP letters on the sides. I saw many of them since few weeks.

Do they look like the older CP rail trailers piggyback style?

just an image of the internet, not my photo.

I just found this one on the web.

The logo is red on the older grey containers and on the refrigerated containers.

This is interesting. The Canadian Tire 60' container pictured with it is even more interesting!
