What a great week! My trip to Kentucky was wonderful. I had a VERY relaxed schedule, so I just made Big Springs, Nebraska Sunday and stayed at the Iowa 80 truck stop Monday and checked out the chrome shop, had a great ham steak for dinner, and grabbed a shower. Tuesday I met up with a Facebook friend in Lincoln, Illinois that owns a Diamond Reo Royale and Raider, painted to match and got to check out his trucks. Made it into Erlanger like eighteen hours early and dropped my trailer at the customer to go find somewhere to eat dinner. I unloaded and slept there and woke up to a quick reload ten miles away. Got a load of shoes that only weighed seven thousand pounds coming straight back to Salt Lake with an equally relaxed schedule, so I stayed at Iowa 80 again that night. This time I slept in to wait for the truck museum to open and it was worth it! Made Big Springs again that night and made it into Salt Lake yesterday and unloaded a day early. Also, I stayed just barely ahead of a big snow storm all the way east, turned south for a day and let it blow over, and it was cleaned up by the time I was westbound, so I timed it just right for good weather most of the trip. Now I'm home, gave Scarlett a bath, and I'm loading tomorrow for Denver, already have a reload coming back home lined up too!

Diamond Reo Royale in Minden, Nebraska. I took a picture of it there six years ago too.

Beautiful Marmon that fueled with me at Iowa 80.

Sounds like an awesome week for sure! Glad you got to check out the Iowa 80 museum, and of course also those two Diamond Reos!

Sounds like truckin' the way it's supposed to be, with enough personal time to
actually see some stuff along the way.
The pic of the silver and black KW sure is in a 'cool' setting, nice backdrop.

Maceo, KY. His brother lives in Sacramento, KY, and has a similar COE, also leased to Kaplan.

Oh, and I agree on that Wyoming shot, Ryan. Awesome!

Thanks folks!

Last week I did a Denver load and a Clackamas, Oregon load. My backhaul from Oregon had two drops, so there's still four pallets of yogurt on to unload tomorrow morning and then I load again to go back to Denver tomorrow.

Two weeks since an update now. After unloading the second drop from Oregon in Salt Lake, I loaded another dairy load for King Sooper in Denver. I unloaded that and reloaded a donut load for Americold in Clearfield. I got there that night, dropped the trailer, and paid a yard goat to put it in the door for the appointment. That Tuesday, the boss saw my truck bobtail at the yard and asked me to hook to the belt trailer again for a load of salt up by Strawberry Reservoir, which I did just for a nice drive and to be home that night. Wednesday I went and grabbed the reefer and they loaded me with ice cream for Hutchinson, Kansas, which is great because I have family there. I got to see some relatives and get a wash before I unloaded Thursday and then I headed to Goddard, Kansas Friday morning to load dry food going to Puyallup, Washington. I delivered that Monday morning and loaded butter going to Sysco in Denver. I got home Tuesday and requested they change my Denver appointment from Thursday morning to Friday morning because my wife wasn't handling me being gone so much very well and I really needed to reset my hours anyway...I was running out of ideas to try and keep under my seventy and only had enough to make it half way to Denver, haha. So I unloaded the butter yesterday morning and reloaded empty milk crates for Smith's in Layton, did a same day delivery and now I'm home until Tuesday! Thirteen thousand miles this month...not too impressive for a real over-the-road driver, but I did alright for a "local guy", haha. Also, I've had such good weather in some places I've stopped, I've gotten a chance to hand polish my aluminum while I load, which makes me happy.

After the wash, before the polishing. Parked by my second cousin's shop in Hutchinson.

Loading at Smith's in Layton.

Pulled over at Castle Rock before the Echo scales coming home last night.

Loaded with the salt at North American Salt.

A friend said this looks like my truck "all grown up", haha.
