Thanks Wreckerman! I know some here probably aren't impressed by it, but I was in awe the first time I saw it. Had no idea Asplundh even has RR operations. I was curious what it was hauling at first but a quick Google search told me everything I need to know about it.

The Asplundh weedkiller truck is awesome....nice catch. Showed this to a friend of mine yesterday who used to be in charge of buying all Asplundh equipment & he dropped a couple of factoids I found interesting. Asplundh is the biggest user of pesticides in the USA with the railroads being their biggest customer. Years ago they were brought to court in California when their spraying destroyed a couple of vineyards. At one point they used to pick up their own trucks from plants with their own employees and drive them away to their locations. This stopped from what I gather when the auto/truck manufacturers hinted they were more like competitors then customers. ;D

So Asplundh used to mount the body themselves after the chassis was finished? Also interesting factoid on them being the biggest pesticide user. It was always a curious question for me as to how the RR companies kept the lines free of trees, so I was glad to learn what the truck was used for.

Here's a set of recent vocationals I've shot in the last week or so.

Starting with this new HX I shot from Top Gun out of Lorton. They've been running 20 year old rigs for a while now, so glad to see them get something new:

Continuing with this Ford Cargo for Sicpa Securink Corp. out of Springfield, VA. Never heard of this company and never seen this truck before. It was dropping off at the sheistiest looking furniture store in Woodbridge:

Next up is this classy 389 for Michael A. Manuel Trucking out of Front Royal:

And then we have a rugged FL Classic brickhauler for K.E. Kriner out of Clear Springs, MD:

Then we have a T800 tanker truck for The Anderson Co. out of Manassas:

And a 114SD gunite truck for Heartland Concrete out of Petersburg, VA:

Continuing with a Midliner for Indy Cargo LLC. out of Indianapolis:

And finishing with a F750 for The Anderson Co. out of Manassas:

The 389 coming around the corner is a great shot! I quite like all the straight trucks too, Anderson is a slight 2 tone that looks cool, it shows up better on the F750 ....at least I think it is a 2 tone green.

Thanks Jim! Yeah it is a two-tone paint job although you have to pay attention to notice the difference. They probably updated it to make it more noticeable, you can tell the shades on the T800 look different from the newer F750.

I've always liked the Ford Cargos, and that one is particularly neat being a tandem.
The Anderson T800 is sharp, surprisingly nice paint job. 8)

Thanks gents! I liked the Ford Cargo too Wreckerman, was just disappointed I had to take that shot facing into the sun.

So anyways here's a small set featuring a few rigs I caught this week. Slim pickings but I made the most of it:

Starting off with this super clean 389 for a lease operator for Quarles out of Fredericksburg. Made the most of the timing, driver was in a rush:

Continuing on with this neat T680 for Transport Bourassa, love seeing Bourassa and Normandin down this way even if they all run the same equipment:

Next up is this rarely-seen CT660 for Virginia Land Improvement Corp. out of Manassas:

And finally, another Pete 348 for R+L Carriers that was my only shot for today:

Few shots but nice ones.....that 389 is stunning! Do you know what the small tank is hanging off the tanker?

Thanks guys! Good eye on that small tank Jim. I think most tankers use mounted boxes, never noticed one with a small tank before but I usually try to shoot tankers from the passenger side so that might be why I never noticed it before.

Small set of some old/some new/some different, hope you guys like.

I've shared this rig before but I'm always looking for a cleaner shot, so here it is. 389 w/ a 85 ton rotator for Redman Fleet Services of Lorton:

Also a rare catch is this FL M2-106 Emergency Response Unit for Redman. It carries those inflatable air bags used to tip big rigs topside.

Tanker 441 for Fairfax County Fire & Rescue. 2007 Mack Granite/Pierce, with a 3k/gpm pump and 1k/gal tank. Runs out of station 41 Crosspointe:

Something different, hi-rail sprinter van for Sperry Rail Service. Assume it's used for track inspections:

And speaking of rails, went cruising today in the midst of this 2 day snow "storm." Couldn't find any rigs for shooting but did catch a pair of CSX trains working:

Great set of unique trucks, they all have a task to perform and all look quite nice, Sperry rail van is cool! I seen a med duty Sperry Rail vehicle in Chilliwack today but did not get a photo of it.
