Not recently but Bruce R Smith was taken over by a private investment company that also owns Consolidated Fastt Frate several years ago

 ;) 3 / 4 years ago after the Death of Founder Bruce R. Smith they had filed for Chapter 11 and just recently regained Ground.. Trying to Think of Carrier that took most of their Trailers ?? Was it Challenger ???::)

 Supposedly the steel division is quietly being shopped around. No proof or details though. Afaik john smith has nothing to do with them anymore other than renting them some of the yards they have left.

They also sold their yrd that was beside kriska in mississauga  .i talked to a secuirty  guard at post foods in Niagara  Falls  who said they dropped the contract there saying they where not making enough  money.

I once spoke with them about a job. The drivers weren't making good money either - even with a union.
