FedEx Reefer trailer with 2 Thermo King units
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:44:39 PM »
We leased our second tractor on with FedEx Custom Critical today and as a trailer, we got this beauty - FCR208. It has two Thermo King units on it for some special customers that require a little extra peace of mind! I know there are at least 8 of these but not sure any more than that. This tractor is ER10981 (2016 Cascadia Evolution) so if you see it or ER10867 (2015 Cascadia Evolution) they are mine!

Are there two units in case one fails, Rob?
Congrats on the lease.

Wow! Belly-mount & nose-mount both. Very strange.

Maybe, the nose-mounts now demand so much room, can't mount twins together. Back in the NWD days, that was done when special circumstances demanded that. Can't remember the reason for that, but it did look wild.

That belly-mount requires a lot of equipment hung-up inside, in the nose. That's space the nose-mount is gonna like to. A peek inside might help answer some what-the-heck questions.

And, talk about tare-weight. That trailer just kissed 5000 pounds of payload by-by, so it's gotta be REAL important. "Custom Critical" probably says it all.
If you don't ask, they can't say no.

Rob - that is exactly it. The pharmaceuticals or whatever product that is being hauled well, the shipper just wants to ensure that the product is good at all times.

And I'll see if I can get an inside picture or two when I meet up with the truck. I have not personally seen this tractor or trailer yet - so one day I hope to see them if they come through the NCR.
