The drom boxes are used extensively in military freight for small light shipments of sometimes classified stuff. Remember,  These haulers are gov't loads,  monitored by dod satellites. Not all loads are25,000 lbs. of Hellfires or 155 Howitzers. I had the privilege of hauling the periscope and optics to Electric Boat for the USS California, a new fast attack missile carrying sub. The flat beds with 7 or 8 drom boxes are called "drom Trains" and go from base to base with obviously small loads of secured cargo. Know that all of these loads are monitored and watched every step of the way, by all kinds of observers.

Baggett Transportation 2-13-15---explosives placard on the trailer on I 605 north..  The Seal Beach Navy Weapons Station is about 8 miles south of where this pic was taken and has deep water access to service the fleet.
