Heading Home From Walcott, 2013(!) - #1
« on: September 01, 2014, 08:35:07 AM »
So, here's some interesting stuff I caught heading home from Walcott last year..   :P

Let's start off with this IH daycab for an outfit called AMX.  Caught in Eastern Iowa, it's a Can Hauler I've not seen since.

Next up, an Iowa Bulker

Sharp 389 pulling a Hi-Cube Ragtop

FAF Inc. T600

Werner Columbia hauling for Bulkmatic?  Columbias are getting rare outside of Werner's O/Os and Lease Operators, and I've not seen them hauling a Bulker before...   ::)

Good Looking Star Flatbedder out of Ohio, headed towards home.

Here's a T660 Daycab for Thrift Trucking of Bartonville, IL.  Never seen them before, and haven't seen them since.

Pulling off the road briefly, here's a KEIM TS T660 Flatbedder

Back on I-80, I see this Pete Big Bunk!

And here's a Ryder-Leased Cascadia Midroof pulling a Flatbed.  The name of the outfit is "KOHN" apparently and the plate appears to be Kansas.  Haven't seen this outfit since 2013.

Taken as I was heading home, this oldie.  If the plate is to be believed it's a 1967 Henrickson.

FXCC Red Columbia

Sharp Volvo Flatbedder for TanTara Transportation Corp., of Muscatine, IA

 :o :o :o
What's this??  357 Heavy Haulers for Valley Transportation (Grand Meadow, MN)!

Here's a O/O Star for BMC Transportation of Columbus, NE

Jim Bender still runs these T600s to this day.  In fact, I saw #2600 not long ago on I-80!

One of the then new Macks for Jacobson Transportation of Des Moines, IA

A T600 Midroof Flatbedder for Echo Enterprise Trucking out of Spokane, WA

W900 Daycab pulling a Tanker out of Illinois

Passing a W900(I Think) I saw these rather colorful markings.  Company is TRANSPORT ALLAN VACHON INC of Saint Anges, QB

Pretty sure this W900L Big Bunk working for AVL is a regular I-80 Runner

Sharp but Unknown out of Michigan...  >:(

Decker of Fort Dodge, IA has this VNL Flatbedder

Another FXCC Columbia, this time in white

Sharp Pete 379 & Stainless Spread out of Ontario

Sharp Mack with Iowa plates hauling Oversize

Chief Carriers of Grand Island, NE shows this 379.  It appears to be a Company ride but they don't have any of these just a year later.  Maybe I caught one of the last rides?

And lastly, this sharp Oldie KW owned by Don V. Krogh of M-, WI

Lots of awesome stuff here! The big bunk 379 and that awesome Ontario 379 with the spread axle stainless reefer are absolutely stunning, both of them... and the Michigan 379 with the spread axle reefer and the Iowa Mack Rawhide ain't far behind!  8)
