Large books with a lot of narrative text
« on: March 26, 2014, 07:23:41 AM »
I haven’t seen that there are many books on various truck manufacturers who are on 250 pages or more and larger than an A4 page, hardcover with very good paper quality and much narrative text and the pictures at appropriate places among all text. Volvo has come out with two great books:

Volvo 70 years from 1927 to 1997 by Christer Olsson with 240 pages . This man has been given permission to use the records, documents, notes, and photos of Volvo's archives. The book contains both the Volvo car history and truck history for 70 years. Very interesting reading.

The second book is called ”The trucks yesterday and today" and is written by the same author. The book deals with only trucks and buses and is of 232 pages. Very good reading, and White and GM are on a corner too. Is not there something similar in the U.S.? It would have been very interesting at getting to read a book about White, for example, and not just look at pictures. This is the text I want. That's the one that means something.
