For financing...

Will be flying somewhere, oh somewhere, in a few days, inspecting a truck...

If it checks out, it's coming home.

Good... BUT, now's the time to be cynical. Don't look for reasons to buy the truck - look for reasons not to buy it. And be as willing to walk away from the deal as you would if the truck was parked across from your house.

I'm sure you'll do the right thing. Good luck!

You'll do fine. You're tough enough. Glad things are working out.

There's every reason in the world NOT to buy any truck. I'm certain you've already heard them all by now.

But, there's one very good reason to buy a truck. For most of us here, trucks are good for the spirit.

Always set my trucks up exactly like I wanted, & that caught attention. As I began aging, younger guys, thinking about starting out, would ask my opinion about doing the same. In all these decades I've never seen a reason to change my advice:

If you think about other things, & those other things are real important in your life, like cars, vacations, leisure, girls, beverages, motorcycles, airplanes, etc, forget about it. Detractions are a deal-breaker for success in trucking, especially at the start-out.

But, if your last thought before you drifted off to sleep was about trucks, & the 1st thing you think about when you wake up is trucks, you're wasting some precious time talking to me about it. Get it done!

Exactly like Tommy Lee Jones answers Will Smith at the start of "Men In Black".

 "Is it worth it?"
"Oh yeah! It's worth it......if you're tough enough!"
If you don't ask, they can't say no.

I agree and disagree with this method, Oso.

I agree that you should always be taking the truck as it is, what it is, what could be problematic about the truck you're looking at.

But, by the same token, I'm absolutely of the belief that you should buy a truck you will enjoy driving. That can mean different things to different people. For some, it's the comfort, the space the truck affords you, for others, it's the style.

As NHRS noted, there's 100 reasons not to buy virtually any truck on the planet. There's no rig that will do all and be all.

I've been hunting for a truck for a month or so now. Seen different things come and go, and as a friend said, you can only look at them for so long, at one point, you just have to take the plunge and get your hands on one.

I've weighed pros and cons of the truck I'm looking closely at picking up in the way it's built and the way it's spec'd, the sort of life it may or does have left, what I can plan on doing with it in the future.

There are several folks on the forum who have actually seen or know the truck that I'm looking closely at... if you can figure out who, maybe they'll show you...

If not... everyone will just have to wait. If I buy it, it will be home by Sunday.
