Lunchtime at MY Overpass - August 2013. Updated .
« on: August 14, 2013, 01:43:46 PM »
I went up on Holiday Monday (5th) and there was very little action.
Tuesday August 13,
A Blustery day with a Manitoba Front blowing in

making it feel more like autumn than summer.

The TRUCK OF THE DAY (Fancy Pete Division) rolled past before I got my camera out.

Brasseur Transport from Quebec.

So, up to the overpass to find (while trying to keep my hat from blowing off)
An American visitor was first - Roehl Transport based in Marshfield WI

Locomote Systems based in Milton steel hauler.

7STARS Express (Stoney Creek) reefer hauler.

Mack RD Waste Hauler

Swedish Motor Home (didn't catch the carrier name)

Old Time Pallets from Mississauga.

Morrice Transportation based in Windsor.

Canada Cartage (from Mississauga) hauling a Loblaws trailer. - I don't know what the President's Choice Black Label Collection is.

I don't shop at Loblaws anymore since there isn't a store in my district.

Flash Freight from Guelph hauling a Confederation Freezers trailer.

Part Deux
Sharp Kenworth W900 from TTL (Toronto Tank Lines) from Hamilton

IFS is based in Tilbury Ontario. They are a steel hauler or, at least, a flat deck carrier. Three came in a row, all loaded with these big bags of some sort of product.

Then, a couple of Macks went past. The first was this trash hauler with a tarped trailer. The wind was getting under the tarp.

After that was steel hauler with a Titan tractor. These still aren't too common.

We'll close with that Packers Logistics T680 Kenworth.

The wind was continuing to blow and bluster and keeping my hat from blowing onto the busy road behind me was more bother so I called it "a day" and left. I'll go back soon.

Rob.

Pretty darn close to a MB front Rob, except the flag still has a couple wrinkles in it and the sky is too small!

Nice shots Rob!! I love that T680 from Packers. It seems that Packers was all Volvo until recently ??? :-\, I also saw a T660 from them. Nice catch on all those IFS rigs ;D. They are from the Oshawa division(you can tell them by the open deck trailers and [Usually] all white rigs), where they haul an assortment of loads like brick, steel bar, lumber etc. The guys out of the Tilbury yard only or primarily deal with steel while the Oshawa guys haul miscellaneous flat deck loads.
It's Appearance might be Half yours but it's Reliability might be Twice yours!!

Wednesday evening while wandering through the car show at the Applewood Plaza I saw a Packers Volvo on the Hamilton bound QEW and it was hauling a second Packers Volvo on a lowboy trailer. I guess they must be updating some of their equipment.

Another week so time for another trip to My Overpass.
I found lots of flat deck haulers and lots of "B"Trains.

The first is this KW from Transcare Logistics.
It looks like it started life with Renown Steel, a distributor that was taken over by Samuel Steel. Renown had some nice trucks from Marshall Leasing running for it.

Next, Locomote Systems steel haulers are all Petes like this one.

TKTL must get back it's backhauls from somewhere other than the Hamilton steel mills and distributors. Two went deadheading past.

Next was a KW T800 high hood gravel hauler.

Then two International daycabs from Transport Sales and Service went past. All the axles are down, they are hauling loads from Hamilton.

(more to follow)

August 20 continued.....

Not a steel hauler but still lots of axles. This garbage scow is from Challenger Bulk, formerly Cam Hilz Trucking. They are now based in (good ole) Mississauga.

However, the break from Steel haulers was short lived as this KW from Fleetway Transport based in Brantford was next.

This was one of many gravel haulers on the Queen E.

Here's another load of steel products pulled by a sharp KW W900.

Then another flat deck; a B Train pulled by a Western Star day cab. It looks to be loaded with building materials.

And another B Train; dump trailers this time.

Then we get a break from the constant stream of multi axled trucks with this empty car hauler headed east.

Back to the B Trains with this grain hauler.

(ahh, another break, so more will follow)

Finally, a dry van hauler. VIKRAM from Brampton is a "New Canadian" carrier.

Allied Van Lines agent from Sudbury went cruising past.

This would have been a good catch for last month's POTM.

Another dry van hauler - St. James Transport. This is a one truck carrier from Toronto.

I couldn't read the carrier name on this Mack with the load of miscellaneous farm equipment.

Another Quebec based steel hauler. It looks like he has a load of railroad rails.

I had hoped to get both of these Quebec based carriers but Transcol, based in St Jean Shawinigan, ran out of the picture.

Papineau is a TransForce owned carrier based in St Jerome QC.

the trailer is being hauled by Lacaille, another Trans Force carrier.

A few more will follow.

Then this T800 with a load of metal products was passed by Autobahn.

Here is another "New Canadian" dry van hauler - Shabad who are also based in Brampton.

CN TL hauling a 53 foot domestic container.

Finally....
THS is what I was hoping to catch for last month's POTM contest.

That finally finishes Tuesday August 20.
One more week in the month; I must try to get there again.
