Nice shots Rob!
And I agree, that Kenworth W900 needs some more color, but it still looks sharp.

Making Hay While The Sun Shines

The weather has finally turned favourable so another visit to the overpass the next day - June 18.
If I get between 15 and 20 pictures worth posting that's a good visit.

First off was a Kenworth T800 from PDI. This company transloads plastic pellets from railway cars and delivers them by road. They have several depots around southern Ontario.

Next, Montreal steelhauler CHRISCOTT LEASING with a KW T660.

An American visitor was next - a Prostar from Covenant Transport.

Here is a Western Star car hauler dead heading to either Oshawa or Alliston for cars. It is from Oakwood Transport from Ingersoll Ont. They have more than one unit set up and painted like this.

A Quebecois truck from ACAM Transport of Sainte-Hyathince QC was next.

This Cascadia certainly shone. Pascal; do you know this one at all?

A LONESTAR day cab gravel hauler followed.

I'll put more up later, but it's Coffee Time now.  ;)

@ Pascal - I wasn't aware of that but now that you mention it I haven't seen Redpath sugar tankers for a long time.

I don't know the carrier name nor can I tell what is being hauled by this Western Star day cab but the trailer advertises KAWARTHA DOWNS, a horse race track near Peterborough.

Car racing too?

A BISON Volvo went past.

Caravan Logistics is a frequently seen carrier too.

An International 9900 from an unknown carrier deadheads past.

Here's an "Oddcouple" -   :o  ??? The tractor has Hyndman decals but they've been taken over by Celadon. Celadon was supposed to have replaced the power with their own. The air dams are supposedly decaled for Celadon while the door signs are still to read Hyndman. To  top things off it is pulling a Liberty Line Haul trailer.

Here is a Pete 386 from Herve Lemieux.

The last 7 will be uploaded later today.

To finish June 18..........
Falcon - these are fairly frequent visitors running between Buffalo and Toronto.

Kleysen, this carrier to and from Western Canada uses COFC for much of their traffic. This T600 is pulling a heated container. The heater probably isn't used in June.

I didn't catch the name on this tanker,

nor on this steel hauler, although it looks like it could be RIMS

Sharp looking KW W900  8)

Contrans company tractor with a tandem board Laidlaw trailer.

THE CATCH OF THE DAY!    8) 8)
Not that it is a rarely impressive looking moving van but because it is a well known local moving company that I have only seen straight trucks for. I don't know how long they've had this tractor-trailer set.

June 20 - Mostly Westbounders

Yup...went back again.
Decided to shoot across the highway and get some heading west, away from Toronto.
JB Hunt Cascadia

Eastbounder, but interesting, a LEXON or NORDAN Kenworth based in Ottawa with coiled steel on the deck.

Muskoka Transport with a three legger trailer. This is an older style lift axle, not the current "SPIF" style.

Caravan Logistics day cab with a CSX Intermodal domestic container.

Oakwood Western Star with a load of cars.

VANDERWOUDE Sod Farms Volvo. I didn't know they were covering loads of sod now. Grass with dirt need protection from the elements?

Older Freightliner from Fleetex Transport from Etobicoke.

Sterling dump truck with a slinger - spreader. This is probably used for topsoil.

W.J.Deans Western Star day cab returning to their yard in Stoney Creek Ont.

This was a very sharp Peterbilt from Glen Tay Transport. I tried to get a clear shot but the cars stayed stubbornly in the way.

Another bulker trailer, this one being pulled by the International day cab from Cooney, has the lift axle in the up position. It is likely heading for another load.

Nice Rob!! I was going to ask for a loaded version of the Oakwood but I thought that might be a stretch,,,,,should've asked anyway as anything is possible!

I think the cars around the sod truck need the load to be covered, they're probably tired of motorists calling in complaining of a dirt storm while passing the truck!? ::)

Jim.

Thanks for the comments Jim.

Toronto, like most large cities, is a consuming area rather than a producing area except for one thing -TRASH.
This Trash Hauler is loaded - all axles down - and hauling another load to a dumping site.

I think the logo on the bunk of this International 9900 is for McKinnon Transport.

Syvret from Burlington is an outstanding fleet.

Here is another from W.J.Deans.

and, a Peterbilt bob tailing along  finished up Thursday's Lunchtime pictures.

Rob. This not a MacKinnon transport, is a different company. Mackinnon logo has changed since the van division been sold.

City of Toronto garbage is being hauled to a landfill site near London called Green Lane.
Garbage from private collections is hauled and dumped at several locations including New York State and still some to Michigan I understand.

Mr. Archer,

It's nice to see the different truck configurations that roam the country.

Out west we don't run near as many axles, and I'm thankful. ;) ;D

(Thanks Ted, glad you are enjoying it. The terrain around here is pretty flat too)

Wednesday June 26 2013.

With damp weather forecast for the rest of the week; Wednesday I went to the Overpass, once more.

Started with some westbounds.......

DBR Transport is from Quebec - I think based in Hamilton ON.

International 9900 from Keith Hall & Sons of Burford. This could be a "reward" tractor as most of their fleet is 9200's or Prostars.

A Trash hauler with another load of Toronto Garbage.

A sharp new Kenworth; is it a T700 or a T680? Unfortunately I can't read the carrier name. LCH ID's it as ALL THE WAY Trucking from Vaughn Ont.

A Pete with a "B" train load of boards.

A white Volvo with a white van; don't know why I bothered to shoot it.  ::)

Kenwill Carriers of Aberfoyle (Guelph) Ont. They have a fleet of these Petes with which they do demolition and hazardous dump hauling.

Transport Herve Lemieux Peterbilt with B Train. The trailer looks like it was originally a J.R. Richard now updated to Lemieux colours.

More will follow.
