DAF dio - Quick Fix( updated to 'Backyard depot')
« on: May 19, 2012, 09:33:34 PM »
This is a dio I did, with the first 1:24 truck ever built(last year). I call this dio, 'Quick Fix'. The truck is built right out of the box with added details to make it more interesting to look at. The base of the diorama is a wooden turn table used for food or what-not from Ikea.

Hello Tiking,

WOW!!!!!

This isn't "model-building" anymore, this is "ART"!!!!!

There are so many "details", that you have to "look" many times before you "realize" it is a "model"!!!!!

However the "DAF" is almost "build out of the box", it is still absolutly "amazing" for all the "details/extra's" added and looking as a very "well used" workhorse!!!!!

The "best" details "around" are for me the "engine" and the "blown tire"!!!!!

And for me as "model-builder" also a very good "proof", that you doesn't "need" many space for a diorama!!!!!

Looking forward to see more from you!!!!!

Greeting from Emmerich am Rhein,Germany,

The DAFman, Leo
Deceased.

I have to agree with The DAFman. WOW! :D He hit it right on the nose when he said this is art. It blows my mind how detail your models are and what a great job you do. I wish I had the ability for such a job.

Updated this dio awhile ago. It was more for space than anything else.

sorry for the late reply. Been really busy with the family. Yes, you can say so. I have been working on a couple of 1/35 dios lately. So a little space had to be made. :)

I don't feel I have the right to make a suggestion on your fantastic work.  But slightly flattening the bottom of the wheels would add the affect of weight to the truck.  Again, magnificent!

The diorama does not exist any more. I have used this truck in another build and have changed the original plastic wheels to rubber.
