I love catching old trucks on my trips. :) Caught a quartet (3 Jimmys & a Chevy) on the way home along US 13 yesterday from Elizabeth City NC that i'd like to share.

Rob

You are indeed correct on the "Moose" bar call.....I would not want to be the unlucky moose. ;D As far as the "Florida Specials" go they are unique aren't they? ??? ::) Hope to catch a few more on some upcoming trips.

Now for the train trip. It was fun.....and different. I boarded in Rocky Mount NC at the restored train station (pretty nice) and took "The Carolinian" to Trenton NJ. It's an Amtrak train but CSX owns all the tracks AFAIK so freight rules the day. The route included about 10 stops (Ashland VA,Richmond VA,QuanticoVA,Washington,Baltimore,Philly & Trenton before ending in NYC).There's a 1/2 hour stop in Washington DC to switch engines from diesel to electric.

I did get a pic of this CSX unit that was delivering freight cars to different plants in Rocky Mount while I waited for my train.

Nice shot Charlie! I've ridden the Northeast Regional from DC to Boston, it would've been nicer but it was an o/n trip and I was trying to sleep the whole time which those cars aren't made for.

Also I disagree, those tracks go right by my house and it seems like Amtrak always gets priority over CSX. They run a ton of Amtrak south out of Union Station so maybe there was a lot of traffic on the rails that day. And btw it would've been DC where they swap from diesel to electric.

I agree with you on the train Charlie, love trains but they offer none of the freedom of having a car.

Nice set you got there, always nice seeing these old Argosy's having a second life with these small operators. And the new Volvo for A. Duie Pyle is neat too. Gotta love the flattop KW the most though.

Thnx partsman. ;) NFI had the Acme Box account for several years but ADP must have picked it up recently. The KW is my fave too. :) The owner's a super nice guy......bought the truck a year ago, picked it up at the factory & has been running the Seattle-NJ lane since.

Good to see an Argosy still making a dollar, and the W900 is definitely a classy rig. 8)

Hey, gotta love the Ultraliner, even if it does look a little "ruff". ;D
Speaking of bulldogs, the Anthems look good, nice to see the them showing up in so many fleets.

I was happy to catch the Ultraliner but there's a KW cabover that hangs around the garage there that I keep missing. :( The Anthem's growing on me.....especially if it's got some chrome goodies on it. :) S. Coraluzzo is the parent company of Torrissi who does all the WAWA gas stations on the east coast so i'd guess WAWA tankers will be pulled by Anthems soon too. 8)
