Truck Day - Toronto Blue Jays

Photo courtesy Toronto Blue Jays and Campbell Moving Systems on Facebbok.

Despite the bitter cold of the past week the clubhouse and equipment department loaded all the Spring Training supplies and equipment into a moving van and dispatched it to Dunedin Florida for Spring Training.

I expect this to be a retooling year for the Jays.
Go Jays Go!

Nice. When did that truck leave? If I time it right it might end up passing through here on its' way south.

Other "Truck Days" found on line

https://www.masslive.com/redsox/index.ssf/2018/11/boston_red_sox_2019_truck_day.html

All the other links I looked at were from past years.

Texas Rangers posted a video
 https://www.mlb.com/video/rangers-truck-day/c-2522439783

as did the Cleveland Indians
https://www.mlb.com/video/indians-truck-day/c-2522475683

So, Spring Training is nearly here.

Charlie - How do you expect your Mets to do this season?

The METS? ??? Let's see.....look decent on paper but like past years healthy pitchers will determine how they do. Just hope I have something to root for after May....past years haven't been so good. Are you going to take in a spring training game Rob? ??? ;D By the time I get back to Florida the season will be 2 weeks old......I used to enjoy a game or two in the sunshine.

I've got some pictures of the Nats trailer they use to haul everything to spring training, and some pictures of the truck that usually hauls it (from Allied agent Victory Van), but never both pieces together at the same time.

I sent the Nats a message on FB to find out when Truck Day is this year, I'd love to go grab a shot as they're loading up.

Lets see if I did this right, Facebook has to make it so complicated to share a FB video elsewhere.

https://www.facebook.com/Nationals/videos/vb.48589510188/1253144348168743/?type=2&theater

So the Nats never responded to my message, assuming because they don't want fans showing up. I took the day off work today with the hope they were going to follow previous years schedules of loading up the Monday a week before spring training starts, and got up this morning to find this video meaning the truck already left lol. But the day wasn't a total waste.

Surprised to see a baby FL pulling that trailer. :o Thought the Nats would go the PACCAR route but maybe they're saving up to pay Harper. ;D

Couple years ago they had their big bunk W9 operator pulling the trailer, that's what I was hoping to catch:

I stopped by their yard in Sterling today and saw it parked on the hill, which is a common occurrence the last ~20 or so times I've gone there, so I'm guessing he's driving something else atm.

I did catch their driver on the return haul from spring training last year in Alexandria after he had just unloaded at Nats Park, he was driving a white T660 that I wasn't sure was his or company owned. Haven't uploaded that shot yet though.

So anyways speaking of timing it right I cruised through Alexandria on my lunch break today and found the Nats trailer hanging outside Victory Van's Alexandria warehouse. As I was pulling around to grab a shot of it the driver came out and immediately started driving up the street, so I beat him to the main road that heads to I-395/Victory Van's main warehouse in Dulles. If I had to guess I'd say they were prepping the trailer to head down to Florida since spring training is over in a week.

401 is the sister truck to 402, which hauled the load down to Florida.

Awesome shot! Pictures in the rain can turn out really well, love the way this one turned out. Nice looking M2 tractor cab as well.
