Southbound on I-81 Part 3
« on: August 24, 2011, 04:50:53 PM »
Here's another twelve pack of rigs from I-81!
TMC 9553 not running deadhead!

  • KL Harring Kenworth T-2000.
  • Freightliner Columbia with a grain hopper.
  • Kenworth W900L with a reefer.
  • HT International Prostar.
  • International Prostar for Gordon(?)

  • PMI Lubricants Kenworth T370
  • Volvo VNL single axle with a tiny sleeper
  • F&W Freightliner Columbia hauling for E-Z-GO.
  • Miller Freightliner hauling a portable office up the hill.
  • Kenworth W900L with a leased van. It might be hauling for Longistics.

Ending the set with MT Wheele's Kenworth W900B with a Harley Davidson trailer. I was sitting at a rest stop about to take my turn driving.

Oh yeah, this is prime truck spotting territory. This, I-70 and I-80 on the Ohio Turnpike and Indiana Toll Road are my top 3 spots right now.

All good choices and it's always nice to be on a road with a gap in the traffic to allow shots like this. I-95 in the northeast is good too but it's usually bumper to bumper and doesn't present as good photo opportunities. >:(

thats why i like the PA turnpike so much. there are times i can sit there and for a minute see maybe one or two cars or trucks, then about a dozen trucks (or cars) go by, then another gap, then a few minutes of bumper to bumper traffic, and then another gap with little or no traffic.

I like my spot at the Turnpike too Shelby. By the way, what mile marker do you set up at along the Turnpike? I went along there on my way home and was trying to recognize the area but a lot of the scenery looked the same ;D

Okay. I was actually looking for the place in the right spot but I couldn't identify it. I don't get out that way too much but I was keeping my eye out for anyone standing nearby with a camera!

Did you catch any PMI Lubricants tankers down that way? ??? They run Prostars with the shiny tankers. 8) I've never been able to get a good pic of one when i've taken I-81 down there. >:(

Thanks guys. No, that's the only PMI truck I saw. I would have noticed a paint scheme like that, it reminds me of Carolina.

What Charlie said!  I love Interstates!  Great series!  That KL Herring T2000 is one of the nicest T2000s I've seen!
