Virginia Twelve Pack- Part 1
« on: August 20, 2011, 06:32:23 PM »
I only got a handful of shots in Virginia because I drove down most of the first day.
Volvo pulled into the rest area.

  • There were four of these Macks, CHs and Visions, with girders on the side of I-95
  • Sheetz Freightliner Columbia tanker.
  • Gary L. Cameron Freightliner Columbia with a stepdeck
  • Freightliner Cascadia with a bulk tanker.

Freightliner Century horse-hauler.

  • Heniff Peterbilt 386
  • Peterbilt 387 in an awesome shade of blue.
  • DOT Foods Volvo VNL.
  • Underwood Kenworth T-800 with a tanker.

And two more Kenworths, one with a Mack on back.

The Macks with the girders appear to be Lester Summer trucks from Ephrata PA. Didn't know they were still running CH's. :o

Thanks for identifying that carrier there Charlie. I couldn't make out the name. I don't believe I've ever caught any Lester Summers trucks before, but I have seen quite a few of there trucks near job sites in the area before.

I think I may go back through these posts that I missed. Some very nice pics here 8). That T800 with the Mack load looks like a Ramar unit. I saw a couple of them down south this year. It appears they do some vehicle hauling, including equipment for the military.

Some of these earlier pictures from Virginia should have probably been shot out of the side window instead of the windshield due to the lighting. We live and learn!
