LTL trailer
« on: July 16, 2011, 10:39:21 AM »
In Thailand, and this might surprise some off the USA members, the LTL side off trucking has the better looking equipement.
Here are some pictures off a trailer, unhooked at the side off the road as the driver (un)loaded his truck in town.

Last picture shows how the Thai drivers mange to reverse easily with their truck-trailer setups.
They cheat! ;D :o

All truck-trailer combo's have a cheater plate.

Enjoy.

ps feel free to ask questions,as allways. ;)

Oseias,in Thailand,that is normal. ::)
In the drivers mind, having  part off the trailer  off the road is as good as having it completely off it.
I know that to us it isn't ok but for them...............it's fine.
And Thailand is a country were they still respect most laws.
You should see what they do in the Phillipines...........

that cheatplate is interesting thing

i first time saw it

so how it is controlled?

but i really dont see any reason for this between this plate and other two must be some clearance and no good alignment of trailer .....

Ivan, they line themselves up straight, then flip up the plate which locks the trailer.
Then they can reverse with the trailer going straight.
If you look closely, you will see that the 2 blocks in which the flipplate goes, have stress damage.(paint is cracked)

i see those blocks but i still think that trailer alignment in this position is not perfect and it tend to go on side i would feel more happier to have telescopic drawbar  pneumatic controled from cab

Looks like there's a lot of side doors for easy loading and separation. ;D Neat post Fangio.
