Here are two photos of FCR021 in the new red livery. There were 2 reefers there and about 5 dry vans there - all in the new red logo. I was on military duty and "slid by" real quick to get these shots. I'm going to see if a friend of mine there can take some more pictures. There were also about 3 contractors there that owned their own trailer with White Glove that were there as well. These look good!!

I swung by today and took my camera. They had one dry van, FCC160 there in the blue logo, one reefer in the blue logo (FCR009) and then FCR015, FCR021 (same as above), FCR023, FCR024 were all there in the red logo along with one Xtra Lease reefer for use in Canada as well. The new signs are also up now with the red logo as well. They are paying $1.70 all miles to O/O's who pull an FDCC owned reefer trailer with a $1,000 sign on bonus.

Questions for Rob...can you see the possibility that FedEx Freight might book more truckload traffic through Custom Critical?
FXF doesn't really have a Truckload division do they?
FedEx wants to be able to offer a client any Transportation / Logistics service that they might require from within the FedEx Corporation.

Also why did they keep the XTRA lease trailer for Canada?

What I see is that they will begin to use FDCC at certain times - for instance, relocation. When FDCC goes to some places (southern florida, southern texas, california) it might be hard to get a FDCC load back out. By opening the lines of communication with FedEx Freight - they can then use FedEx assets to move the freight while paying for a relocation ... not sure if it will but I proposed this a while ago before I left. I wrote a paper detailing how FedEx Corp. needed to create a central "capacity" team that had access to Custom Critical, Ground, Freight, GSCS and at the time, National LTL as well. This would work well for FXNL and FDCC because both had contractors going one direction without a guaranteed load next. FXG usually had regular routes on linehaul, but still. This team would look at loads that FedEx Express and FedEx Freight (both users of purchase capacity) could utilize an FXNL or FDCC vehicle to move and likewise, keep FedEx freight in a FedEx vehicle, keep the FedEx contractor/driver running and lessen the reliance on purchase carriers.  I was too innovative for my time ... the companies were still operating completely independent.  It was then that I started using our sister OPCO's to move freight for FDCC at times and people saw that it could be done .... then i took on a bigger challenge (innovating for military logistics).  FedEx Truckload Brokerage operates as a subsidiary of Custom Critical. FedEx Freight (when I left) was using Landstar as the brokerage agent for all truckload freight and purchased capacity. FXF does have a truckload division that you can book loads through - but some times the load is split between 2 pups and sometimes they just use an outside carrier to actually do the load under contract for FXF. They can offer anything right now - even ocean and less than container loads as well. They cannot always put the freight on a FedEx vehicle, but they can offer it. Hope that helps some.
