These are LED displays worth around a half million dollars. They put one on me and sent me to San Francisco. :o

Francis rendezvous! Chris was going the other way and met me and Cass in Fernley, NV. The Shortbus was a couple hours behind us with the stretch trailer, and 555 and Chris were both back over to Stockton, CA last night. This week, a lot of Francis trucks have rolled across Nevada on I-80.

Great pictures from the road.....I bet you liked how that load was hanging over  ;D.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust if it wasn't for those " Bad Ass Peterbilts " the Hammer Lane would rust.

I actually don't know how I feel about overwidth... there's a lot of preparation and you gotta watch a lot more stuff, but that's apparently where the money is.

With that load, I could run after dark in California and Nevada, but it had to have lights on the overhang... Utah won't let you run after dark with overwidth more than ten foot wide. You can run the speed limit, we needed trip permits for Cali and Nevada and the permits are only good for one route. The laws change from state to state and it all just depends on how big you are and where you've gotta take it.

I have a load of sixty foot rebar on right now, headed for Denver tomorrow. It'll have to be permitted in Wyoming just because of the rear overhang.

Ryan,thanks for that answer. ;)
It shows how things are different and yet the same.
You have different rules according to which states you run in (evendough you are in the same country) and we have different rules for every country evendough we are supposed to be in a united Europe.

If the pay is adjusted then yes, there should be more money in wide/long loads.
If you don't have cowboys messing up(wanted to use a different word but it is allowed on the forum, starts with an F) the market.

Keep the pictures coming. ;D

You had your first oversize load and took pictures while driving it?! I'd have white knuckles and probably just pay attention to what was passing me and what's coming up ahead. :D

Haha, for the record, I'd hauled a couple overwidth loads before. There's not too much to watch out for on I-80 across Nevada anyway, but I was pretty comfortable having Cass in front of me, he told me if there was anything special to watch for. As for cars passing us, that doesn't happen very often... the truck will do eighty miles an hour. ;)

Also, if anyone was curious, my backhaul was the racks that had held up both signs... it is pictured a couple times in my mirror shots.
