Would anyone know what the deal with this truck Gary Morton spotted is? I never knew International had a van division.

Jon
Not exactly a van "division" no, as I recall it.
I pulled just a few vans in 2 1/2 years with them, and some of those were tow-aways -- that is, they belonged to the customer.  One was a climate controlled military trailer containing a solid fuel rocket.  If the fuel cracks from temperature swings (or otherwise), it burns unevenly and the rocket goes wild.

Of IT's own vans... there were perhaps typically one or two in each yard around the country, available if needed, sort'a thing.   One time I pulled one was for a very rush-rush shipment of automobile interior parts that weighed a grand total of 700 pounds.  All foam rubber with a little naugahyde.
The boxes didn't even cover half the floor of the 40' van.   But without those parts, the assembly line would stop.   So... Express Team job.
Why I remember that particular load... I have no idea!  But we "flew" over hill and dale with it.  LOL

Here's an "IT" I shot in the late 80s at Manada Hill, PA.

Here is a photo of Dave Hodgeman's 80 Peterbilt from an article in Overdrive Magazine, 1980

this Peterbilt really gave me a love for the 359, what a classic truck, so cool for it's time! I'm quite surprised t was never captured on the road by anyone in the day and posted here.
