Uh oh! Tourist town? I hope they like the sound of my truck idling all night tonight. Thanks Jan.

Well, not really, I guess, but downtown Dubois seemed to be full of the dude ranch type of tourists when I came through last, at least... ::)

It's rare for people to actually live their dream. You're one of the rare ones. Even if the reality turns out to be only half as good as the dream, you'll be more fortunate than most. Hope to see you on the big road here in East TN some day.

Thanks guys!

These trucks haul ore into a plant in Soda Springs. A lot of old Pacifics, not sure what this one is.

This one looks like a Pacific though.

Had a pretty drive up to Moran, Wyoming.

This turned a six hour drive into an eleven hour drive and doubled my miles.

Yup. I was dodging elk the whole night before.

Got to watch 'em fill a hole in Hoback.

Even though the miles doubled, you sure did have a nice view through that windshield most of the time. ;) And yeah, the tarped load looks good behind ol' 20. ;) ;D

Jan.

...BUT all of the added miles were done in the dark. I had planned the whole trip to arrive before dark, so I could see the country AND avoid hitting any moose, elk, deer, bears, pronghorn, or bison. Well, the road closure ruined that and there were a BUNCH of elk standing along the road, I think I had six heart attacks that night. I was lucky enough that none were IN the road, because I wouldn't have gotten her stopped in time. Pretty sure I did squish a bunny though.....

Better get one of them bunny bars put on your truck next time it's in the shop Ryan. ;D Sounds like you had a nice plan......and as you'll find out most plans go down the tube soon after the journey begins. :D

Yeah, that sure changes that. The darkness, I mean, not the bunny.... ::) ;D Hope your next trip is more painless. Speaking of which - where are ya goin' next?! ;)
