Now this is a pothole
« on: May 06, 2011, 07:52:25 AM »
On my travels i came across this.
It wasn't the biggest one i saw. ::)

The roads in Thailand aren't really bad ,it is just that you must allways be on the look out for the bad patches. And the bad patches have at best a cone like here but most off the times there is nothing marking them.

At first i thought that was a Jersey pothole then i figured if it were NJDOT would have 2 cones with yellow tape wrapped around them. ;D Must be tough driving at night over there. :o

::) 8) Spring time when the Frost is finally coming out of the Ground it's a Big Problem in the Northern Climates... Back in the late 50's & early 60's we had a feisty Female Mayor who's answer to the problem was to Sell a Pothole.........

Hello Fangio,

I saw many of those "pot-holes" also in Indonesia!!!!!

They doesn't need "verkeersdrempels" (a kind of "bump" over the road, in use for "keeping the speed "low/down) like we have in Holland and Belgium!!!!!

Even "trucks and buses" did "slow-down" for such "pot-holes", the "results" of "doing not" were very "visible" at the shoulders of the roads!!!!!
From "tyres and wheels" up to "complete axles"!!!!!

I saw once a motorcycledriver "hitting" such hole and he "flew" with all people on it through the air!!!!!
Thank god, nobody was "seriously injured", but the motorcycle was only "scrap" after that "hit"!!!!!

Also for such "surprises" I didn't drive in the "dark" there in Indonesia!!!!!
Even 10 "extra-lights" can't "warn" you "on time" for such "holes"!!!!!
(And many roads  outside the "city's" haven't (hardly) "street-lights"!!!!!)

Greetings from Germany,

Leo
Deceased.

At first i thought that was a Jersey pothole...
