Clemmer Trucking 1980 W900a
« on: April 14, 2011, 12:08:52 AM »
I happened upon Mr. Carlton Clemmer (Dallas, Oregon) as he was getting loaded with recycled cardboard at the Target store in Kennewick, WA.

Mr. Clemmer is a great guy, and he loves to see people taking pictures and discussing his rig. He is the 2nd owner of this truck (for 16 years) and it's about 75% original including most of the interior (amazing condition)!
Originally a log truck (still has the bunks/headache rack), it now hauls a Cozad lowboy and this set of flats and sports the removable sleeper.
He showed me his photo portfolio and actually moved the truck back away from a car to allow me to shoot the first shot above.

Mr. Clemmer has shown the truck several times at the ATHS show in Brooks, OR and has met Hank as well.

Very nice truck! Simple, yet stylish. 8) It's good to hear the driver is a good fellow too and that he was accommodating and interested in the industry.
The foot turned to the horse, the horse to the carriage, the carriage to the train, and the train to the truck.

X2 on both counts. :) It's nice to happen upon someone who understands why you want to take a picture of a truck and then actually takes the time to talk to you about it too. 8)

Over a year later, I happened to spot Mr. Clemmer again in the Tri-Cities, this time waiting to unload at Parr Lumber.
