awesome '84 K-100
« on: February 25, 2011, 09:09:55 PM »
Spotted this beautiful 1984 K-100 in a rest area today. He was tightening something on his steering box, minor fix.It still had a 400 Cummins in it.What was really cool was he was heading north to run the winter ice road.He said it was his hobby truck so wasn't going to run it the whole season just a little bit.He had a load of antifreeze on.

You can tell that he an old time north driver ,packing a propane bottle with him.

That's beautiful. The K100 lost style points when they switched to rectangular headlights in my opinion. Love the look of that model.
Did ya ask him what the wheelbase was?

No unfortunatly I didn't ask him the wheelbase,we didn't have much time to talk it was rather cold out there.Looking at it I am thinking 244".

I'm thinking you're not too far off. That's a 110" cab with lotsa frame left over.

Hello guys,

I know many wouldn't like this comment, but in my "eyes" he is a big "idiot" to "spoil" such fantastic rig on the "ice-road"!!!!!
"Hobby-truck" or not, but I "think" he can still made "enough" money with that one on "normal" trips/loads!!!!!!

But as "modelbuilder" is that one "screaming" for a model!!!!! (Revell KW K-100 VIT)
RobG, for that many thanks for that "catch"!!!!!

Greetings from Germany,

The DAFman, Leo
Deceased.
