Road Pictures from My New Trucking Job
« on: November 18, 2010, 05:58:11 PM »
Hello all. I thought that I would put up some pictures from my new driving job. I'm hauling veal feed to farms through out the Midwest. Sometimes into Pa and New York state. Pretty neat job, because I travel the back roads to the farms. some of the roads are one lane and dirt. anyways. I'm just putting up pictures as I take them no order. The feed comes in 50# bags that are stacked 10 high on mini pallets. I truck them off with a hand cart and a ramp. average per stop is 6 to 10 ton. one stop delivery's are 20 ton. so its a lot of hard work but its good exercise. anyways thats the story and I'm sticking to it. hope you enjoy the scenery

As a European driver I enjoy to see some every day trucking scene from North America. It's always informative and interesting.

I really enjoyed these photos.

Hand bombing aside, looks like a great job, you get to drive the back roads, not much traffic, farmers are generally friendlier than big city folks, you get to spend the day out in the country, no big riggers around, you got it made. ;D

Very cool, Terry! Nice scenery for sure. I take it you're not all that happy about the truck, though? ??? ;) Doesn't look bad for a white Columbia, though. ;)

Looking forward to seeing more pics from your trips. :)

Glad you guys enjoy the pictures. I do have more and soon as I get some time, I will put them up. I also have taken some video and i will post the videos later. The blimp hangar was taken in Akron. also Jan. You are right about the truck. I have driven worst but the freightliner is a just a cheap truck and uncomfortable to drive...

here are some of the videos that i took while on the road.

1st one is during the nasty storm that hit the entire Midwest this past fall. I took the video at about 4:30 and it hit hard. you cant see in the video but to the left there was a set of doubles and during the storm the rear trailer wheels where off the ground..

2nd was the same day and was taken after my delivery. i was heading to another delivery in South Central ill. I ended up picking a back haul up of grain for us in Milton Wis. A very Pretty young Girl loaded me and I can tell you she had one speed with the fork Truck. 'Balls out." I never have seen or had anyone load me as fast as she did. We Talked about hunting and Fishing for a while . very pretty. but she also had a dip in which was a shame..

3rd. I took this while I was making some delivery's to some Amish Farms in North Western Pa and North Eastern Ohio.

4th is a very short video of a pickup I was making at a Hog farm near Chippewah Falls Wisconsin. We buy some kind of powder from the farmer and I pick up there about twice a month.

Here are some more. most of them are from Pa. One set you will see a long driveway heading up a pretty good size hill. I had to drag a full load of veal feed up that hill. the other pictures show the truck backed into the barn. you also see a load lock that has a really good bend job. thats what a load lock looks like when it takes the brunt of a sliding load
