Thailand roadscenes
« on: October 30, 2010, 02:18:04 PM »
These are pictures from Thailand
Some are ok but some are because off circumstances , not the best shots.
They do give a image off the trucking scene in Thailand.

They do have wide roads

Thailand is after the USA the biggest market for pickups
The next 3 pics show how they are used

They use them as private cars, small bus and light truck.

I hope you enjoy these, more are to follow.

ps any questions i will happely answer.

7 axles truck+trailer
I spoke to a driver he said they were limited to 40000kg(around 88000pounds).
But i saw those 7 axles running at night and their tyres were low.
So maybe daytime weights are stricter then nighttime???
This 7 axles is a back end dump.

Cool pics! Never been to Thailand, and so it's interesting to get a glimpse of the trucking scene there. ;)

The fact that Thailand is that big a market for pickups, like you say, should explain why the Ford Ranger model currently sold in Europe is made in Thailand... I always wondered why, now I know. ;)

Thanks, Fangio, for the report on Thailand.
Why, if I may ask, did you decide to go there?

Rob,there are 3 area's in the world that interest me.(i would see the whole world if i had the money)
North-America,South East Asia(Thailand, laos,Vietnam,Cambodia and Indonesia) and the New zeeland-Australia double.
As my last trip was to California,i decided that Asia was good for the next trip.
Thailand was a place in Asia that has allways been on my list and i had friends there who were on holiday at the same time as me.
That simple. ;)

Found this picture hiding in a small corner off my pc.
Old skool taildecorations.

It is allways good to see a driver take care off his rig even if you don't like his style. ;)
Enjoy.
