Well it looks like Alex was the smartest one in that trio. There is no way I would have signed a contract to drive those trucks on that road.

I'm surprise that Alex being the most experienced out of the bunch didn't even make it out of town.

And from the sound of it, one 1 one the three will actually make it through the whole season "Dangerous Roads". Looked like Lisa freeks out on the next show. I'm afraid of heights to a point, and those roads are WAY over that point. So I'd never made it. And that bridge I NEVER would of made it across

I thought this season of IRT was vastly superior to the previous two seasons.  The fake drama was greatly reduced and the continuity was pretty decent.  I like the time spent with the DOT and the push truck crews.  WFT was up with Greg and wanting to "sack" everyone?

How do only 4 people die every hour on Indian roads?  :?

That traffic in India is bizzarre, three times the deaths per year as U.S. and average highway speed of 10-20 kph.

That stuff was the most ridiculous, annoying thing they could have done, his a** should be fired.

I'm ready for "Trucking With the Stars."
(Florence Henderson with Alex maybe?)

the funny bits:
hugh:  "right going for the pregnacy test, i it im pregnant i'l cut the [swear] off" holding a utiliy knife by his crotch!

hugh, i think in IRT 1 "if its clear its good if its pink you're pregnant!" i think aimed at TJ

and Alex is always quite funny

Back in the mid 70's I had 22 trucks hauling from Albera to Prudhoe bay.

Fairbanks to prudhoe bay is 501 miles. Use to take anywhere from 30 to 34 hourd to make a rounder with 318 Detroits and 350 Cummins.

This bloody show is nothing but a farce.

My drivers got paid for 54 hours for the rounder even though it took a lot less time and Owner Ops got 80% of gross plus all fuel and meals and tires were paid for by Alyeska north of the Yukon river.

The whole thing about 54 hours was what SAlyeska paid per round trip.

If for any reason it took longer due to weather, accident, riad conditions etc., they paid you an extra $65.00 per hour and dumbasses thought is was great to waste time and get an extra 1 or 2 hours.

Interesting mountain paths not roads. To think i used to complain about taking Rt 219 (HO CHI MEIN TRAIL) off I 80 in PA. to Hamburg NY.

how did it get that name, have you got pics?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ho_Chi_Minh_trail

Well I never served in the armed forces but the Ho Chi Minh trail got bombed quite a lot during the war. The Ho Chi Min trail I remember was rt 33 from Easton PA up to I-80. All the east west I-40 trucks that ran from California to New England would take I-81 to Rt 78/22 to Easton then North to I-80. So that was a MAJOR truck route. They wanted you to run I-81 the whole way to I-80 but the Ho Chi Minh described above was a lot shorter.

It was only ever a narrow two-lane road then and it was rough enough to have been carpet bombed. There were always stories about whacking mirrors with oncoming trucks on the Ho Chi Minh. It ran through the Pocono Mountains and there were some casino/honeymoon resorts there and they were really trying to discourage the truck traffic. So the Ho Chi Minh got the first permanent weighscales in PA, all the rest of the state used portable scales.

Funny thing was, there was a truckstop or a restaurant that had a lot of truck parking, I forget its name, and it was halfway between the SCALES AHEAD - ALL TRUCKS MUST STOP sign and the actual scales. If you were heavy you just went in there and asked CB channel 10 if the scales were open and if they were you just turned around and went back down and over into NJ and up I-87. Longer but no scales.
