An interesting International Transtar II
« on: September 22, 2010, 09:40:44 PM »
I have ever posted here pics of Marol Express outstanding  blue Kenworth heavy haulers. At the last St-Joseph  in Beauce County truck show a few weeks back they  had their last acquisition,  a great looking International Transtar II.  I have been told that they found this jewel in British Columbia.  From what I had understand the truck  would be used in truck show and a little as a toy by the owners. Here is a pic of the truck taken by my friend Simon Boudreau at St-Joseph.

Yesterday afternoon I drove my wife to Quebec City for  a meeting with girls she went to the Teacher  College with quite a few years ago. I was free at 17h00 and I decided to do some trucks spotting along TCH at St-Nicolas.  As we had some heavy showers  in the afternoon the sky was dark and  conditions were not that good to take pictures.  As I was thinking about leaving, I saw the Marol Transtar coming in the other direction fulling loaded with a big John Deere Combine.  Despite  of the darkness and the heavy traffic at this end of the afternoon, I was able to  get a few shots of this fantastic truck. Very impressive for a more than 30 years trucks.

That truck right there, in that model in that set-up is one of my favorite looking tractors, the late-model TS2 with the bigger 88" cab (made from 77 or 78 to 81), Eagle paint scheme, duel stacks, and the other extras.

Hello Gerard,

You call that an "interesting" International Transtar II?? :? :? :? :-o :-o :-o

You "deserve" a "medal" for catching that one!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-) :-) :-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I "know" more very good (pictures) of the IH Transtar-II, but this one is "the best "original" picture" of the 1/25-scale ERTL model!!!!!

The "long frame", "smaller" tanks, the fenders, the bumper, the only "difference" is the "double-stack" and the "air-intake"!!!!!

I "found" a fully "unbuild/sealed" original ERTL kit on an "flee-market" here in Emmerich!!!!!
The "kids" were never "interested" in that one and simply "forgotten" in the basement!!!!!
Now for 15,- it is "my"!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-) :-) :-)
The "old" price of 30,- Dutch guilders was still "on" it and they want to have that "price"!!!!! (1,- = 2,- Dutch Guilder!!!!!)

So now you should certainly will "know" what the "model" will "look like"!!!!!

Also Kenworth-47, many thanks for the pictures!!!!!!

Greetings from Germany,

The DAFman, Leo
