Somehow I missed this whole Nostalgia section here. I gotta thank Tootall67 for pointing it out to me.

This is awesome.....and the reason why I love trucks.

Only problem now is when I look out in the yard and see the new trucks, it's really depressing, LOL.

I wish someone would build a time machine already so I can go back to the 70's.

This one is of a Freightliner from Laidlaw (while owned by a businessman named Mike DeGroote. Doug Mckenzie worked for Laidlaw) hauling CAST containers to be loaded with (IIRC) white (soy) beans which will be exported to Europe. Laidlaw handled these containers. He has just passed the Highway 25 interchange headed west from Toronto. Apparently it wasn't lunchtime when Neils took the picture. The truck will soon climb the hill of the Niagara Escarpment which was the "ruling grade" on Highway 401 west of Toronto.

Here's another "Classic Canadian" shot from the 70's that I can REALLY dig!! :-) :-)

I remember seeing a lot of these units at Daniel's truck stop,  hwy's 21 and 401 about close to 40 years ago.....

Whoa!!! That's some really old antique can there. I think I seen CAST containers before, anyone know what's the story behind it's disappearance or has it been acquired by bigger SSLs?

WT9000 Ford from Roseman Transport beside Niagara Falls, the HORSESHOE Falls.

None of the companies in the picture: Roseman Transport, Brights Cannery or Ford Heavy Trucks are still in business today.

             ...Roseman still exists. :o...Jim. ;)

It looks like a heater to keep the fruit juices from freezing in the winter.

The beauty of bringing a dormant thread back to life. :) Jerry spent a lot of hours researching & gathering info & finally posting photos and comments here.........nice to see it rewarded a second time around by newer members who weren't around 7+ years ago. 8) Heck I'm enjoying it myself now as I did back then. 8)

I really liked that shot of Brights WT9000, what a classy idea....the Falls in the background. I think it was in Canadian Driver Owner as an ad for them? The Laidlaw Cast combo too, sure does bring the memory back!
