A Bakers Dozen From The Bridge
« on: June 24, 2009, 02:06:55 PM »
Some more photos from a spot on the south side of the Mackinac Bridge that i took on June 3 2009. The first 5 are from an early morning (7 AM) trip and the rest were taken around 4 PM that afternoon. Once again i hope Mackinac359 looks in & helps out ID'ing the locals.

Nice shots, Charlie.  I like the Spartan T800 and the Freightliner Classic with the Zellar centipede.
The foot turned to the horse, the horse to the carriage, the carriage to the train, and the train to the truck.

Some excellent catches here, Charlie  :-o

My favorites would be the the second one from the bottom and the one above that, as I am not used to seeing those types of trailers with so many axles down here.   :-o

Hello Charley,

WOW!!! Here we go again!!!!! Many thanks for all those fantastic "specials"!!!
That FL Classic with Zellar trailer, is that hauling scrap???
I really love that KW W-900 with that chromed tanktrailer!!! You will need very dark sunglaces for not getting blind by reflections!!!

What is that fantastic building in the background??
And Mackinac359, your nickname is choosen for that bridge??
BTW, can you give me a tip where I can find that bridge??
Greetings,

Leo

The "fantastic" building is a motel - a Comfort Inn IIRC. :| The bridge connects the Lower Peninsula & Upper Peninsula of Michigan - it crosses from Mackinaw City (lower) over to St. Ignace (upper). Here's a link to an aerial view.

Hello Charlie,

Also many thanks for this info!!! That building has the "look" of an ancient "train-station"!!!!!
But If I ever have the opportunity to visit that place, I have definitly already a "vacation-adress"!!!!!
Driving over that bridge must be a very exiting experience!!!!!
Looking already forward to hear and see more of you!!!
Take care and all the best wishes and greetings from Germany,
