OH YES, I really love and enjoy those pictures as you did by taking them!!!!
For us Europeans it will always be fascinating to see those "specials"!!!
My favorites are the black chiphauler and that amazing International COE!!!!!
Must have all tankertrucks an "escort" and for what reason?????

Hello Charlie,

Many thanks about that info!!!!! Never heard or saw a TV-documentary about that bridge!!! Saw on YouTube a movie of a truck driving over that bridge!!! I thought the "Zeeland" bridge in the southwest of Holland, or our bridge in Emmerich, crossing the river Rhein (see in Google for Emmerich am Rhein, Germany) were big, but that one is HUGE!!!!!
Those rules and regulations are only in use for really "heavy" transport or by extrem weather conditions!!!

I remember the Mackinac Bridge played the lead role in an episode of Dirty Jobs with Mike Howe... I wonder if they were washing the bridge way up high there or something, but I do remember it was that bridge at least.
