Pensacola Naval Air Station
« on: December 17, 2008, 04:21:32 PM »
I went on vacation to the Gulf Coast this year.  One of my stops was the Pensacola Naval Air Station.  We got to see the museum and the Blue Angels put on a free practice show.

Nice pics, we went to an air show and saw the Blue Angels do a show on the other side of the island one time. Do you have any pictures of them? My dad really loves planes and flying.

Looks like you had a good time!

In your 2nd pic right above the Dauntless (or probably above the F6F Hellcat in the background) there is a smaller 2-engined aircraft with 2 small and 1 larger bomb on it.  The nose was cut off so I couldn't ID it.  Do you have a picture and/or an ID for it?

Also nice to see the SLUF in the last picture!

Huntflatbed, we had a great time.  I looked through my pictures and could not find any with the entire plane in it and I do not remember what it was.

I believe this is about the aircraft you were asking about. It was one of the first radio controlled drones.

That's where my father took his flight trainning during WW II, he was a Navy fighter pilot. He loved flying...
