An interesting White Western Star

Those pics were taken last week in Milk River Alberta by my friend Gerald. The truck is a 1977 White Western Star equipped with a Mercury sleeper cab. Truck seem to be original and in pretty good condition.

I love White Western Stars! Some of the coolest trucks around in my opinion.

Every single White-Western Star I've seen with a sleeper is a Mercury, I'm guessing White had a contract or something with Mercury Fabrications or something to install on their rigs if the customer ordered the rig with a sleeper. This is another of the great ones.
There were trucks like the Pineapple out of Denver along with Carol Smith and his big black pete w/ a KTA600, The Monfort gang (Monfort Lane) ,Cantrell out of Mo. w/his wicked 359 3408 cat and all his friends, Frank Frazer and his small bunk, big KTA 600.

Hello there,

I'm Thomas, from Quebec. I've been lurking on this website for a while now, but wanted to exhume this old post in favor of a small coincidence...

While driving back home from Montreal last week, I stumbled apon this truck parked in front of the Mont-Laurier Western Star dealer (I already noticed it quickly, driving there a few weeks ago, but didn't stop at that time).

This time I stopped for those only pics, before my phone died... gasp! Then at home, did a brief search on the internet to find out the year... and fell upon this very same truck, on this forum, taken 8 years back on the other side of the country...!

Insignificant event, but I felt it was well worth sharing... not to mention it's an amazing truck, and a very rare sight nowadays. Seems still solid, but would need some TLC from someone ready to preserve it. Has great character as is, in my opinion... Don't even know if it's for sale, or owned by someone that has plans for it. Hope it won't be left sitting there, keep on decomposing!
