Mines got a 385 Cummapart, nothing to write home about either. I hear those D-13's are 400 horse. I'd take that right about now, plus jakes!

Chad- I do that already, key up on the cb and make some jake noises, get some weird reply's.

Have fun laughing at em, more power to ya. Take a picture, I wanna see their faces. With my lack of jake, I come off the hill making jake noises over the cb, get a lot of old replies from that.
We've got the 385 Cummins in ours with no jakes and no passenger seat, feel lucky. Triples are slow on the hill.

Least they got jakes too.
I agree with you Dave, and this is why I am fighting and trying to get people on board with the union. Our benefits as a non-union carrier are not as good as what they are on the union side. But the pay is not the only thing im striving for, im striving for decent equipment, equipment with Jake's, it is so unsafe to be hauling 105,500 on 6% grades, as you know Dave, you haul 100,000+ all the time with a jake, imagine without, yes I realize there was a time when we all didn't have jake's, well most of us anyways, but these days,

Yeah, they told us that they were stripped down models, but their actually really nice inside, one of the most optioned out fleet trucks i've ever been in, if only it had a bit more power and a jake it would be perfect.

:-D nate got a jake!.... congrats.... now we wont get those "jakes" pushed on us..... oh wait you cant get a jake on a volvo... its a
These Volvo's  exhaust brake was a joke.

JOKE BRAKE.....
so you still dont have A JACOBS BRAKE!
 :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

carry on with the baahwwwahhhhhwaahhhh on the CB nate!
its a binder thing you just wouldnt get it...

Mr. Leonard, all those posts, yet you still dont have facts.

Yes my linehaul truck which my father is currently driving does not have a Jake or exhaust brake on it.

The 2003 Volvo's Motor Cargo purchased had Exhaust brakes on them.

The 2008 Volvo Tandem tractor I am in right now has a 500 horse Cummins with a 6 stage JACOBS Industries Brake on it.

So yes, I have a Jake brake.

Thank you, and good nite.

I'll be here all week.

Tip your waitress.

That Volvo motor is a bigger boat anchor than the Cummins 444.

Oh Nate can open them. We laugh at these childish tiffs about the kids on here all the time on pm. And since were on here are you saying a Volvo built engine doesnt have a Jacobs brake on them or that any Volvo truck "no matter the engine" doesnt have a Jacobs engine brake on them with lets say a Cummins?
