What are the containers mounted in front of the trailer axles? A pesticide for sea travel?  ???

That is the generator (gen set) and fuel tank that is used to power the container's reefer unit.

I bet he picked this reefer up in Wilmington, DE as Chiquta's vessels call at Wilmington...or at least they used to!

Here's a newer VNL300 I caught today, north bound on I-81 near Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Two more Giant trucks, a "southern" one, and a "northern" one.

Cascadia (southern version)

VNL300 (northern version)

Dave:

Where did you shoot the "Southern" Giant - Landover truck? I know they caome as far north as the ES3 warehouse in Strinestown, PA (right off I-83, north of York, PA).

It was parked along I-83 in northern Maryland, very close to the PA line. It could have been just inside PA as well, I can't quite remember. I noticed I didn't see the northern ones until I cleared York.

On a side note, I also notice some of the product on the store shelves in the stores near me have the "southern" logo on them now.
